TANGO DOWN Welcomes Vocalist CHAS WEST

TANGO DOWN have announced their new vocalist after the departure of David Reece. News just in from Kivel Records:

"We said we were going to lay low for a few months and enjoy the holidays. We all greatly appreciate the response that ‘Charming Devil’ continues to receive. We took time to sit back and soak everything in over the last year. All the good, and not so good, and in the end what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger (we think somebody famous said that).

Well, we’ve been quiet long enough. It’s time to kick the tires and get things back into gear. So, let’s start off with the obvious question that is on everyone’s mind. WHO is our new singer? Of course finding the right guy was going to prove to be a daunting task to say the least. However, we were up to the challenge, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our selection. So folks, we give you Chas West! Please welcome him to the TANGO DOWN fold!

As a front man, Chas first came to prominence as lead vocalist for BONHAM, featuring Jason Bonham on drums (son of the late, great John Bonham of LED ZEPPELIN), recording two major-label albums (Sony/MJJ) and touring the world extensively.

Chas has also held the lead vocal slot and toured with George Lynch’s LYNCH MOB. In between LYNCH MOB stints, Chas fronted the HOLLYWOOD ALLSTARZ (which included members of BLACK SABBATH, QUIET RIOT, DIO, RATT, & DOKKEN). Chas has also been given the ultimate nod of approval from one of the premier legends of Rock and Roll, Mr. Robert Plant (LED ZEPPELIN). After hearing Chas for the first time, Plant had this to say, "He sounds like me when I was his age". No better compliment or stronger validation could be asked for.

Chas West is a vocal wailer who has the power and grit of Chris Cornell, and the range and rock star attitude of Robert Plant. We could not be happier or more excited to welcome such an amazing talent into the band. Together we will not disappoint. Songs are currently being written, six of which have been approved and checked off that pesky To-Do List. One of these new songs may just be the best TANGO DOWN song ever!

TANGO DOWN, 2015 we are back and we are BIG, BAD & BULLETPROOF!

New album ‘Bulletproof’ coming Fall 2015 on Kivel Records

CAIN'S OFFERING Offer Up New Album on Frontiers

Friday, May 15, 2015
Categories:

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of the second CAIN’S OFFERING studio album entitled “Stormcrow” on May 15th in Europe and May 19th in North America.
Cain's Offering is the brainchild of Finnish guitarist/songwriter Jani Liimatainen, founding member of one of Finland's biggest musical exports, Sonata Arctica.

Drawing its musical influence from both the classic Hard Rock scene, fast-paced European Power Metal and a very modern Heavy Metal sound, CAIN’S OFFERING is, just as expected, another perfect example of today's incredible Finnish music scene.
Joining Jani on the band’s sophomore release, coming after 2009’s acclaimed debut “Gather the Faithful”, are Stratovarius vocalist Timo Kotipelto and keyboardist Jens Johansson, plus Jonas Kuhlberg on bass and Jani "Hurtsi" Hurula (Paul Di'Anno) on drums. “I was approached about doing this second Cain’s Offering album already a few years ago” explains Jani, “but back then I was way too busy with other projects to even consider taking the time to write an album worth of material, but last year when I was approached about it again I thought that the time might be right and felt like I could really focus all my energy on the album”.

Jani continues “I think musically the new album is a bit more focused and coherent. “Gather The Faithful” was the first album where I wrote all the music and lyrics by myself, and in retrospect maybe I was a bit too ambitious, trying to prove that I can actually write really good, complex songs. It’s been six years since the first one and I think that I have matured as a writer, not trying to prove anything anymore, just trying to write the best possible material. It’s still very much vocal and melody orientated writing, since to me the melody is always the king, but I did try to keep things a bit more simple this time. Although I think Timo would still say some of the vocal melodies are quite complex!”

“Stormcrow” is a tour-de-force of who's-who in the Finnish heavy metal scene, and yes, this does sound like a dream come true for all fans of melodic Heavy Metal. And guess what - the final result is going to blow you away as this album melts the best of SONATA ARCTICA and STRATOVARIUS together in a new, exciting and powerful sound!

“Stormcrow” tracklisting:

1. Stormcrow
2. The Best Of Times
3. A Night To Forget
4. I Will Build You a Rome
5. Too Tired To Run
6. Constellation Of Tears
7. Antemortem
8. My Heart Beats For No One
9. I Am Legion
10. Rising Sun

STARZ Sign To Frontiers For New Studio Album

Frontiers Music Srl is delighted to announce the signing of US Hard Rock legends STARZ who will release a new album in the second half of 2015!

Although not as commercial successful and well known as a lot of their peers, STARZ has proven to be a hugely influential far band for those musicians who were aware of them. Several massively successful U.S. artists, like Cinderella (band), Bon Jovi, Poison, Twisted Sister and Motley Crue cite STARZ as a primary influence. Magazines like Kerrang! and Hit Parader have included Starz albums on lists of the most important heavy metal albums of all-time!

All together STARZ recorded four studio albums in the second half of the 70’s: “Starz”, “Violation”, “Attention Shoppers” and “Coliseum Rock” and gathered critical acclaim with their ability to mesh the smooth with the hard. "We loved pop melodies," admits guitarist Richie Ranno, "and we also loved heavy guitars. We liked to combine hooks with a harder edge. Our singer Michael Lee Smith had a great sense of melody. In the course of four albums, we only used orchestrations or keyboards once, preferring to mix heavy rock productions with melodic overtones."

STARZ are now returning with a lineup featuring original members Richie Ranno on guitars, Michael Lee Smith on vocals, Joe X Dube on drums and new faces George DiAna on bass and Alex Kane on guitar.

“We are absolutely psyched to be writing and recording an album of new STARZ songs for the Frontiers Label. We’re really excited about the new songs we’ve come up with – SUBWAY TERROR 2015 – here we come! Our sincere thanks go out to the staff of Frontiers Records for giving us this opportunity,” says Ranno.

STARZ are set to appear live in Europe at the HRH Festival in Wales on March 13th.

Norweigan-turned-Brit, Issa returns with her fourth solo album; following up the patchy Can’t Stop, which was comprised of classic (and obscure) AOR covers.
I’ve found Issa a bit hit and miss after her memorable 2010 debut. I’ve found the balance of image over style a little too much in favor of the less important image at times, but all is forgiven with Crossfire. Despite the glammed up image again front and center, this time the style is matched with substance in the form of 11 very appealing songs. This album might just be her best effort yet.
Credit must go to the new lineup used, bringing in Vega’s James Martin – Keyboards and Tom Martin - bass and Guitars; plus drummer Michael Cruise has given the album more of a band feel - and a good band at that.

The extended time taken to gather the best set of songs also pays off, showcased immediately with the glorious title track opener Crossfire, which I probably will rate as my favourite Issa track to date.
New Horizon offers something a little smoother and moodier before the monster ballad Raintown blows us away.
Steve Overland guests on the song as a duet – but it is his opening lines that simply stun. His vocal gift is extraordinary. Issa joins in to deliver a passionate and powerful co-lead.
Long Time Coming is one of the more urgent tracks on offer; Fight Fire With Rain is a very catchy straight ahead AOR hit and Heartbeat cranks the tempo and throws in a nice anthemic catchy hook.
The album continues without offering filler, Red Lights and Only You delivering the best chorus hooks of the last section of the album.

Fans of female fronted melodic rock and straight forward classic AOR with a Scandi/British twist should fall over themselves to get a hold of this.
It’s one of my favourite female lead albums in recent years.
