We're delighted to announce that we are one of the 25 bands that have proceeded to the final voting round in the Sweden Rock Festival band competition.
Voting has started and will end February 10 at 9AM.
We have set up a little Facebook group with daily reminders and all sorts of good natured posts. If you fancy joining the hardcore team, then click here and send us a request:
2 votes per day per IP-address. A maximum of 5 bands at a time.
Unfortunately we have, in the past seen some attempts to cheat with the voting. If we see anyting similar this year, the band/artist in question will be removed from the competition.
After this final voting, the top three bands will play Sweden Rock Festival 2016! Besides these three bands, Sweden Rock choose one of the 25 bands for the "wild card", so in total there will be four winners.
Another 19 acts confirmed for the Sweden Rock Festival!
We at the Sweden Rock Festival are happy to announce another 19 acts that have been confirmed for next year's Sweden Rock Festival, which will take place in Solvesborg in southern Sweden June 3rd to 6th.
Def Leppard are returning to Sweden Rock after seven years, and this time their setlist will be completely focused on their best known tracks. And considering that these Brits are one of the best-selling hard rock bands of all time, there are plenty of hits to choose from.
Five Finger Death Punch made a big impression on the main stage audience at Sweden Rock 2013 and have been one of the most requested acts since then. Now they will be back for what will be their only Swedish show next summer.
Meshuggah are making their long overdue Sweden Rock debut, Opeth will play their only Swedish concert next summer at Sweden Rock, Airbourne and Manfred Mann's Earth Band are making much anticipated comebacks and Exodus will arrive with legendary vocalist Steve Souza back by the microphone. Evergrey will be playing twice - an electric show on the Wednesday and an aoustic set two days later.
Jon English got plenty of attention and acknowledgement when his last Sweden Rock appearance was broadcast on national Swedish radio. This summer he returns for a more intimate performance at a smaller stage. Kaipa was one of the leading Swedish progressive acts in the 70's - for Sweden Rock, their classic line-up is reforming to play the group's early material under the name Kaipa Da Capo. The Swiss band Samael will be performing their classic black/industrial metal hybrid "Ceremony of Opposites" in its entirety.
Also added to the festival line-up are Lillasyster, Mad Max, Tony Carey, Avatar, Electric Mary, Hazy/Dizzy andThe Order Of Israfel.

Mötley Crüe have announced their retirement after December 31st 2015. This summer, their show at Sweden Rock Festival will be their only in Scandinavia.
Judas Priest have always received a royal welcome by the Sweden Rock audience, so it is no wonder that their only show in Sweden next summer will be played in Sölvesborg.
Toto have been around for 35 years, but have never played the Sweden Rock Festival. Next summer, the wait is over!
Backyard Babies put their career on ice indefinitely in the spring of 2010. Soon, they will be back with a new album and their return to the stages will begin at Sweden Rock, where the band has never set foot before. "We are absolutely psyched!" comments front man Nicke Borg and guitarist Dregen.
HammerFall, D-A-D and Dark Tranquillity are Sweden Rock audience favourites and we are happy to have them back. Thrash metal legends Nuclear Assault have not played in Sweden in more than 20 years but are now making their only Scandinavian appearance next year at Sweden Rock. Nearly 40 years have passed since the original line-up of Lucifer's Friend played together. The group were pioneers of heavy 70´s hard rock - now they are reunited. With John Lawton (ex-Uriah Heep) on vocals, of course.
Also announced are The Angels, Exciter, Rock Goddess, H.E.A.T, Wolf, The Quireboys, Delain, Torsson and Steve n' Seagulls.
The remaining 70 artists will be announced as they get confirmed throughout the autumn and winter. Tickets and more info can be found at www.swedenrock.com
