The Celtic metal songstress LEAH will release her new album "The Quest" on October 5th in Europe and North America through Inner Wound Recordings.
The album was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen [Volbeat, Amaranthe, Evergrey] and musicians on the album includes Troy Donockley [Nightwish], Timo Somers [Delain], Chen Balbus [Orphaned Land], Barend Courbois [Blind Guardian] and Sander Zoer [ex. Delain].
With a strong Celtic & Fantasy connection, some prog rock elements, ethereal ambiance, combined with traditional Symphonic Metal elements, this is an album LEAH is very proud to present.
The concept for "The Quest" is very simple: we're all on a journey, and sometimes we lose our way. There are adventures, wildernesses, treasures, monsters, looters, people out to send us down the wrong path. Through it all, we must grow in wisdom and experience, find our compass once again and find our way back to the true path in order to reach our full potential: our destiny.
Inner Wound Recordings are proud to announce the signing of POWER QUEST, one of the premiere melodic power metal bands in the world, to the label. The band will hit the studio in April and the new album is scheduled to be released in October.
Known for their catchy, uplifting sound and superb live shows, PQ are back to deliver their 6th album in conjunction with Inner Wound. Having toured with the likes of Helloween, Angra, Freedom Call and Symphony X to name but a few, the band are ready to take things to the next level.
Steve Williams of Power Quest comments:
I'm really pleased to have sealed the deal with Emil and Inner Wound for the release of the next PQ opus. We were in discussions for a couple of months, during which time the salient points of the deal were already agreed before I recently flew to Gothenburg to sign the agreement in person. In this age of faceless business it was refreshing to do things the old fashioned way. I'm really excited about this collaboration and we have a lot of cool things planned for the next 12 months.
Emil Westerdahl of Inner Wound Recordings comments:
It's a true pleasure to announce the signing of POWER QUEST to the label. During the past few months that Steve and I have been in contact it's become clear that we share the same vision for the band and that POWER QUEST and Inner Wound is a perfect fit. I am really excited about the cooperation and also confident that together we'll be able to take POWER QUEST to the next level.

Dan Owen - Guitars

The Polish prog band VOTUM recently released their new album ":KTONIK:" through Inner Wound Recordings. The track "Vertical" is currently streaming at YouTube.
":KTONIK:", the new album from the prog band VOTUM was released in February in Europe and North America through Inner Wound Recordings.
The album was mixed by David Castillo at Ghost Ward [Katatonia, Opeth, Bloodbath] and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios [Paradise Lost, Kreator, Leprous].
VOTUM combines dark and vibrant atmosphere with metal traditions, bringing both force and ambience to play. The band is no stranger to musical diversity with subtle cinematic frailty and modern electronica. Dealing in powerful guitars and acoustic ballads VOTUM creates a very specific blend of fresh and unusual approach to progressive rock and metal.

Inner Wound Recordings are proud to announce the signing of the US progressive power metal band MindMaze to the label. Their new album "Back From The Edge" will be released on October 24st in Europe and October 28th in North America.
Despite nearly unanimous praise for the songwriting on their debut album "Mask of Lies", the band has strived harder than ever to craft amazing songs filled with first-class musicianship, memorable hooks, and powerful melodies and riffs. The new album sees the band moving further towards forging a strong identity rather than borrowing little bits and pieces from all over their map of influences.
Mike LePond [Symphony X] performs bass on all tracks on "Back From The Edge". The artwork was created by Carl-Andre Beckston [Seventh Wonder, Harem Scarem, Brazen Abbot]. Legendary Stratovarius keyboardist Jens Johansson lends an expectedly awesome solo and harmony to the progressively-tinged track "Moment of Flight".

02. Through the Open Door
03. Moment of Flight
04. Dreamwalker

"This is an album we're extremely proud of! The whole band have contributed to the songwriting and we have really taken the time to make sure every song has gotten the attention it deserves. We have gone back to the roots of the Axenstar sound and mixed it with all the new influences we got over the years and it has turned into this great and exciting new album. As always we have recorded the album at Studio Underground with Pelle Saether in charge of the mixing and producing. And of course we're really excited to have been signed to Inner Wound Recordings and to work with them on this release! Make sure to check out our new album "Where Dreams Are Forgotten" later this year!"
