November 22, 2016, Dallas, TX -  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands celebrates the 45th anniversary of one of Rock’s timeless classics, Led Zeppelin IV.

In a matter of four short years Led Zeppelin had delivered four groundbreaking albums each destined to top the other. Widely considered a hard rock, heavy metal band by many, Zeppelin would astonish everyone by creating one of hard rock’s first epic ballads, the most played record in rock radio history “Stairway To Heaven”. Jimmy Page shares with In The Studio host Redbeard just how immediate the reaction was.

“We were out touring and that album (IV) hadn’t come out and we played “Stairway” in the Forum (Los Angeles) and we got a standing ovation.”  - Jimmy Page

Anyone assuming that Led Zeppelin’s allure was limited to the decade of the Seventies, or even the 20th century, simply has not been paying attention: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction 1995; Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award 2005; one-off 2007 London O2 Arena performance that had over six million ticket requests; and recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012 awarded by U.S. President Barack Obama, proving that the Led Zeppelin legacy and their music has certainly not diminished.

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant share their views In The Studio as to why Led Zeppelin IV  has stood the test of time to become the third highest selling album in music history.

"I wanted to make music that people would respect... I knew it was good, but I hadn’t got the faintest idea that it was ever going to become as big as it did... I wanted to do something that could stand the test of time.”  - Jimmy Page

“We just did whatever... whenever it was most appropriate, with amplifiers, without amplifiers, in a desert, on top of a Welsh mountain, wherever it was which could be indicative and show what we were all about.”  - Robert Plant

Jimmy Page Shares Triumph & Tragedy Of Final Years Of LED ZEPPELIN

Dallas, TX - July 29, 2015. North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands  concludes its conversations with Led Zeppelin founder, guitarist, producer and songwriter Jimmy Page with a revealing look at the final years of Led Zeppelin.

For over a decade Led Zeppelin soared above the Rock'n'Roll world, setting course with their groundbreaking 1969 debut, then trailblazing through the Seventies selling millions of albums and concert tickets. But it was this very demand for more' larger crowds, longer tours' which would vie for focus from these four still rather young men trying, in some cases, to start a family or deal with fame and fortune. Factor into this heady brew the fate of the unknown and unforeseen, and you get legendary creative highs and the most tragic losses and lows.  That's what you have with what turned out to be the final Led Zeppelin studio albums Presence in 1976, the timeless In Through The Out Door in 1979, and the post-original collection of rarities called Coda.

InTheStudio host Redbeard speaks at length to band founder/ guitarist/ producer Jimmy Page about his comprehensive overhaul of the Led Zeppelin catalog which now has given fans the most authoritative look at the band's illustrious career.  In Through The Out Door is played every day on US radio, but as the studio album which preceded drummer John Bonham's death, Jimmy Page assures us that it was never meant to be Led Zeppelin's last.

'Of course it wasn't. There'd have been another album after that. I know John Bonham and I had discussed that. And if you want to have an idea about what way that would go, well then just listen to 'Bonzo's Montreux' and see where he's given a good hand to be able to do drum orchestra and really enjoy himself. He used to like to get into things where he could really get in and groove... We probably would have gone in that direction, but it's hard to tell '.'  - Jimmy Page

Jimmy Page Stokes Fire For Led Zeppelin On Fortieth Anniversary Of Physical Graffiti

Dallas, TX - February 24, 2014. North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands  goes one on one with Led Zeppelin founder, guitarist, producer and songwriter Jimmy Page on the 40th anniversary of Physical Graffiti.
Led Zeppelin's sixth release had completed a fundamental change in the popular music and media equation that began with their fourth album back in 1971. With the song 'Stairway to Heaven' , Led Zeppelin had proven that the album format had matured to the point that a hit single for Top 40 radio release was no longer a necessity for big album sales.

Before Led Zeppelin the conventional wisdom of A&R (record label) types was to focus on one sound or style to be successful. But Zeppelin's international success resulted in more extensive concert tours taking them to the four corners of the world, which only stoked their creative flame such that epic songs on Physical Graffiti like 'Kashmir' became musical bonfires, 'Ten Years Gone' glowing embers, and 'Custard Pie', 'Trampled Under Foot' and 'In My Time of Dying' outright sonic blow torches.

One of the enduring legacies of Physical Graffiti was Led Zeppelin's uncanny ability to seduce the ears while also pummeling the listener with a sonic slam which knew no peer, often in the same song. Jimmy Page shares with InTheStudio host Redbeard how he made the conscious decision to innovate and not be derivative.

'I was really careful not to listen to too much other music... I wasn't following what everyone else was doing in the same sort of category as us, that's for sure. I was trying to do things that were really different.'  - Jimmy Page
