Ross "The Boss" Friedman Talks Death Dealer and The Dictators

It's not many who can claim to have started two important bands in two separate genres. Ross "the Boss" Friedman can claim just that as the founding member of  both Punk legends "The Dictators" & Power Metal pioneers "Manowar". Formed in 1973 and 1980 respectively, both bands forged new territory in their genres as Friedman's latest project Death Dealer, seeks to carve it's own name in music history.

Ross called into The GuitCast podcast to talk with the guys about the new Death Dealer album 'Hallowed Ground, out now via Sweden Music Group (SMG), & a flurry of new activity for Friedman's Punk band The Dictators.

Featuring members that have previously played with the likes of Manowar, The Dictators, Rob Halford, Lizzy Borden and Cage, Death Dealer are a true heavy metal force as the album 'Hallowed Ground' shows. Recorded remotely between band member's homes in Australia and the U.S.A., the 13 tracks that make up 'Hallowed Ground' are the follow-up to their over-the-top debut 'Warmaster' from  2013. Friedman says: It's an amazing piece of work and it's gonna stand the test of time." Accompanying Ross on guitar is Stu Marshall, vocalist Sean Peck, bassist Mike Davis, and drummer Steve Bolgnese.

Friedman's original band The Dictators are having a resurgence with a new single 'Supply and Demand'. Their first new music in 15 years as The Dictators began their European tour November 8th. Also CBS Legacy Recordings is re-issuing the first Dictators album 'The Dictators Go Girl Crazy'. "That was my first record and its hanging in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame." says Ross.

Andrew W.K. has remixed original recordings to create brand new versions of "The Next Big Thing," "Two Tub Man," and "Weekend" for this Black Friday exclusive release! The brand new 10" EP, which comes pressed on beautiful opaque red vinyl will be released exclusively on Black Friday, November 27th, 2015 in a very limited edition of 2500. The album also includes previously unreleased session outtakes, a completely unknown recording of, "Backseat Boogie," along with an alternate take of "Weekend."
