PJ FARLEY to Release Solo Debut on MelodicRock Records

Artist:

MelodicRock Records is very proud to announce a partnership with Trixter bassist P.J. FARLEY for the release of his debut solo album ‘Boutique Sound Frames’, due for release worldwide May 20.

‘Boutique Sound Frames’ is an outstanding musical statement from a dynamic singer/songwriter, who dives into 11 modern melodic rock tracks guaranteed to stay on high rotation in the months ahead.

P.J. describes the album he’s spent over a decade writing:

“I wrote and recorded these songs over the years alongside any band I was in at the time. I felt that the songs weren’t a good fit for any of those bands at that point. These songs are a lot more personal and I guess I always felt at some point I would release a solo record based on the nature of the lyrics.”

“They all came from a very genuine place creatively speaking. That there was no set goal with them enabled me to just write whatever I was feeling at the time, without having any pressure to conform to any certain mold, genre or label chirping. It took 12 years or so, haha, but a wise man once said, ‘If it’s good enough, it doesn’t matter when it comes out’”.

Well, it’s finally coming out May 20 and you can pre-order today! All pre-orders will receive a limited edition sticker of the album cover as well as getting the disc shipped ahead of the official release date.

P.J. FARLEY started his professional career as a musician at the ripe old age of 16 as the bass player for Trixter (www.trixterrocks.com). The band signed its first major label record deal with MCA Records in 1989. Trixter went on to sell well over 1 million records and had 3 #1 videos on MTV. They toured with bands like Kiss, Poison, Scorpions, Warrant and more.
P.J. has played just about every arena/theater/outdoor pavilion and club all over the world.

In 2002 P.J joined up with Active Rock chart toppers RA (Universal/Republic) in which he embarked on the 2nd chapter of his recording and touring career. Sneaking into the Modern Hard Rock genre and touring with bands like Staind, Seether and Sevendust , P.J. was able to remain relevant and creative in the music business while Trixter took a 13 year hiatus.

In 2009 P.J. was asked to join up with Lita Ford and toured worldwide with her for almost 4 years, along with a number of short stints with other artists such as
Ours, Jimmy Gnecco and Deepfield.
All along this timeframe, P.J. had been quietly recording songs. Writing, performing all instruments and producing. Those songs have become a cohesive collection that now make up his debut solo album titled ‘Boutique Sound Frames’.

Album Credits:

Produced by P.J. Farley
Co-Produced, Engineered & Mixed by Steve Brown at Mojo Vegas Studios
* Suckerpunch Mixed by Pete Evick

Frontiers to Release WITHEM's 'The Unforgiving Road' on June 3

Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of WITHEM's new album, entitled 'The Unforgiving Road' on June 3.

Withem is an upcoming Progressive Metal band hailing from Norway who are inspired by the likes of Symphony X, Pagan's Mind, Dream Theater and Circus Maximus, concentrating heavily on melodic, memorable hooks, but still with plenty of stunning and virtuoso instrumental sections. The band debuted with 'The Point of You' in 2013, gathering excellent reviews from several music websites, blogs and magazines from all over the world. The release was followed by European touring with Pagan's Mind, Circus Maximus and Seventh Wonder, and performances at both ProgPower USA and ProgPower Oslo, always with an extremely positive reception.

The new album, 'The Unforgiving Road' sees the band perfecting their style. WITHEM's gripping, melody-driven songs avoid the clich's and pitfalls of overly dramatic instrumental sections and sheer senseless complexity and instead center on creative interplay between the musicians, while the unique vocal range of Ole Aleksander Wagenius gives the band a distinctive touch. Just like the debut album, 'The Unforgiving Road' was produced and mixed by guitarist 'yvind Voldmo Larsen at his own Lionheart Studio, boasting powerful and bombastic production values with plenty of moments for the listener to notice the most subtle intricate parts of the songs.

"The Unforgiving Road is a the culmination of almost a year worth of composing, recording and producing. We didn't want to rush things after the first album, to avoid the usual pitfalls of "sophomore albums," says WITHEM guitar player and producer Oyvind Larsen "The challenges we encountered while writing and recording can only be matched with how rewarding it feels after everything is set and done!"

"'yvind once again took the helm for most of the composition and the whole scope of recording, mixing and producing, and we can't wait to hear everyone's reactions after they listen to the end result," adds new bassist Miguel Pereira. "We are looking forward to start promoting The Unforgiving Road with live shows right after the album is out, and meet all our friends and fans throughout the world."

Tracklisting of 'The Unforgiving Road' includes:

1. 'Intro
2. Exit
3. In The Hands Of A God
4. The Pain I Collected
5. Riven
6. C'est La Vie
7. The Eye In The Sky
8. Arrhythmia
9. In My Will
10. Unaffected Love
11. Outro

FROM THE FIRE Sign to Lion's Pride Music for 'OctOpus'

Artist:
Categories:
News Feed

Lions Pride Music is ecstatic to have signed a classic act like FROM THE FIRE for their up and coming new studio album, “OctOpus”, due out late 2016. Also to follow will be re-press of the band’s first two albums, “Evil Men Do”, and of course the classic debut album, “Thirty Days & Dirty Nights”.

A LITTLE HISTORY

In August 1990, a band was formed to showcase the songwriting talents of New Jersey native Nadine Arel. Michael Sciotto was going to be the drummer; Paul St. James (Drive She Said) would play bass, and Arel would play keys.

Mike called Long Islander J.D. Kelly to check out the material. Since he'd been a fan of Sciotto's talents for a while, Kelly was anxious to meet the band - and it only took a few moments of listening to the songs to realize that the group's potential was huge. Kelly joined on the spot, and brought some songs of his own.

Only one piece was missing. Voodoo X Guitarist Tommy Lafferty - who had been in cover bands with Kelly, and was a friend of Sciotto - was contacted to see if he knew of any guitar players looking for a gig. Tommy replied "Yeah... me". That reply started a series of events that would take the band from an unknown, unsigned act to a top-flight AOR outfit with a record deal, all in the space of less than a week.

The magic started when the newly-formed band was spotted at their very first gig a tribute to the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughaan, only weeks after his passing by indie-label execs Mark Brian Levine annd Steven Marder, who approached the group after their set and offered a contract with their label, Metropolis Records. The timing was right, the label offer was a great one, and the band members knew that opportunity was knocking loudly.

GO TIME

What happened next was a blur of contract signings, packing, and flying out to Los Angeles to meet producer Jean Beauvoir and co-producer/Engineer Pat Regan at Fortress Sound. The first week saw intense rehearsal, and the choosing of nine songs for the album, including two covers: the Lafferty/Beauvoir composition "Same Song", and a cover of Eric Carmen's classic "Go All The Way".

Rough mixes were promising. The strong performances of the band had set a great foundation for Beauvoir and Regan's polish and finesse, and the combination gave the album a slick, top-class feel. As Christmas approached, the band prepared to return to the New York tri-state area. Beauvoir and Regan stayed behind at Fortress Sound to reset the studio and mix the album. It was around that time that a late night session of a different kind took place at the band's condo: the long days and even longer nights of recording, publicity, and activities of the unofficial kind had inspired a simple name for the upcoming release: "Thirty Days and Thirty Nights".  During a loud playback in the control room Record Exec Mark Levine asked the band what the working title of the album was, Tommy replied Thirty Days and Thirty Nights, Mark chuckled at the title. When asked what was so funny Mark replied, “Great title, Thirty Days and Dirty Nights..huh??? A Classic was born, thx Mark!

TRACTION

In late 1991 a European label called Music for Nations grabbed the chance to distribute the album across the Atlantic. Active Records pressed the release, and put it on the market in the UK, Spain, Germany, France, and throughout the continent. Initial press was phenomenal; "Raw", "Kerranng", "Metal Edge", and the Belgian magazine "Rock Report" all praised the record - the last, in Flemish - and it seemed that things were looking up. The band continued to rehearse and write songs, some of which were demo'd in a crude home studio in Kelly's apartment. The recording gear was nothing special, but those songs - including a cover of Brett Smiley's "Blame it on the Moon", delivered to the band by none other than legendary rock impresario Andrew Loog Oldham himself, were... so much so that a leaked copy of the home studio sessions resulted in a bootleg release via Japan.

Despite the great press and solid response, the pre-Internet distance between the band and its fan base took its toll, and From The Fire started to fragment into smaller projects, as members pursued opportunities outside of the group.

On the night of October 17, 1992, at NYC's Rocketeria, From the Fire performed what would be their last live show for over 20 years.

PHOENIX RISES

A re-release of "Thirty Days" in 2009 sparked talk of a reunion, but the actual re-assembling of the band would take place in 2013, when Sciotto, Kelly, and Lafferty converged on Sciotto's upstate New York studio to record "Evil Men Do". The album was ready literally just in time for the band's live performance at the 2014 "Firefest" in Nottingham, UK. Containing strong AOR and melodic rock elements, it remains a collectible that has seen a very limited pressing.

In late summer of 2015, Kelly and Lafferty took up production of From The Fire's third album, "OctOpus", going so far as to release two songs from the album onto social media for their fans to enjoy. The first song, "You Will Survive", is a tribute to the late singer Jimi Jamison, who had a tremendous influence on Kelly both as a singer and songwriter. The second, "The Night I Made You Mine", is a haunting piece about a tryst between lovers - and the heartbreak it ultimately causes them both.

With the balance of the songs to be recorded leaning heavily toward the style of classic American AOR, "OctOpus" is slated for completion in early 2016, with some "familiar names" in the production credits. As of this writing, Lafferty and Kelly are assembling a top-shelf live band to support the album with American and European tour dates to be announced upon the record's release. Stay tuned.

Erika was born on a cold winter night in Skelleftea, Sweden where she started her own band at just 12 years old. As a teenager she relocated to Stockholm where she started to write and record demos with various rock bands. In the late 1980’s she dated and later married guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen.  In 1989 Erika was offered her first deal for a record, which was called “Cold Winter Night”, an album she co-wrote which proved to be a resounding success. The following tours were a sell out and Erika became a rock singing sensation. Her marriage with Yngwie ended in 1992 and she found herself back in Stockholm and recording two more successful albums “In the arms of a stranger” and “Lady Luck”. The latter album featured the hit song “Lost in Paradise” a duet with Eurovision star Jan Johensen.

In 1995 Erika recorded “When Christmas comes to town”, a song which is regarded as a Christmas classic in Sweden and then  released her fourth album “Planet X” and then “Ripe” which were both very big in Japan.

In 2014 Erika started to record the sixth outing which is “Deaf, Dumb and Blonde”, an album which surpasses all she has done – she still has the vocal power of her earlier releases and is set to make a big stir in the rock world once more. With production from Alex Angleflod and Erika herself the album was also recorded at Red Door studio (Abba, Beyonce, Korn). Also featured on the recording are band members from Europe, Candlemass and In Flames.

During her career Erika has appeared on countless TV shows in Scandinavia and  Japan as well as writing for many other well-known artists, one of those being “AOR” (Frederic Slama).  In short she is a legend and this new album should see her extending her popularity to a whole new audience.

Discography: Cold Winter Night (1990) / In The Arms of a Stranger (1991) / Lady Luck (1993) / Planet X (1995) / Ripe (1998) / Supertrax (compilation 2000) / Deaf Dumb and Blonde (2016)

THE ANSWER 'Rise' 10th Anniversary Edition Out via SPV

Artist:
Release Year:
2015

News Feed

- THE ANSWER "Rise" 10th Anniversary Edition will be released through Steamhammer /SPV on June 17th, 2016 in Europe (excl. UK & Eire) -

Almost 10 years to the day, 17th June 2016 sees the release of RISE - 10th Anniversary Edition. This release is available on 2CD hardback digipak, 180g black vinyl (incl. download code) and digital formats marking this milestone in The Answer’s career. Fully re mastered, this celebratory issue of the band’s successful debut which broke the 100,000 sales barrier, comes bundled with all sorts of extras including the never before heard 2004 demos, rare acoustic versions and exclusive mixes of tracks that never made the original album.

Lead singer and front man Cormac Neeson said “This album will forever hold a special place in our hearts. As with most of the music we release, we approached the 10th Anniversary of Rise from a music fans perspective. We spent weeks sifting through our old demos and photos from that period in our lives and found some stuff I'd forgotten even existed! We also went back into the studio to freshen up a new version of Under The Sky and of course there's a never before released vinyl format of this record which I’m personally looking forward to annoying the neighbours with when I get back home to Belfast!”

The artwork has been revised by original designer Paul Chessell and developed to include lots of old photos, liner notes and period memories penned by each member of the band. The track listing includes the original album re-mastered, 8 demos from 2004 and 4 mixes of tracks from 2006 plus a brand new mix of Under The Sky.

RISE gave the band, who hail from Northern Ireland, a hit not only in the UK but in other key international territories, notably Japan. The 2006 album set them on their way to not only performing shows with the likes of AC/DC, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rolling Stones and Paul Rodgers but also headlining shows across the world. Classic Rock magazine named The Answer ‘Best New Band’ in 2005 and in the same year Jimmy Page, who has attended several concerts, also gave them his seal of approval.

The RISE - 10th Anniversary Edition release will be welcomed by the fans many of whom have requested that physical vinyl versions of this material be made available. The release certainly sees the band marking and celebrating what has gone before, whilst very much having one eye on what is yet to come

MR's 20th Anniversary Year. Now What?

Categories:
News Feed

2016 sees MelodicRock.com celebrate 20 years online.

It has been a privilege and an honor to be part of the melodic rock community for this length of time.

It has been both humbling and rewarding to be able to help promote many of the artists I grew up listening to. So many great musicians I have met along the way and am proud to call friends.
And I thank so many loyal readers and followers of the site for your friendship and support over the years.

To all the companies that have supported MelodicRock.com over that time, I thank you also. Such an investment has allowed me to do this “job” full time for a good part of the 20 years and I trust that my services have helped sell a lot of records over that time.
Some like Frontiers Records, AOR Heaven and NEH Records have been with me almost since the very start.

That said, times have changed since 1996 and the music business has changed. Information delivery has changed.

And now on the occasion of my 20th Anniversary, it is time for me to make a change. For the better I think. This is a long post and I hope folks will have the interest to read through it all. It’s not a missive of doom and gloom, but more a reality check from one person’s perspective and a look at what’s to come. Read on please…

The industry I started in some 20 years ago is all but gone as the music business continues on through a complete overhaul. The massive increase in piracy and the move by consumers to switch to digital formats and streaming has brought about the closure of a lot of companies. Magazines, retailers, labels, PR companies…
Many of those were companies that supported MelodicRock.com over the years with advertising and promotional activities.

Businesses have always come and gone, but these days the ones that go aren’t being replaced by new enterprises. Everything has consolidated to a handful of companies.
iTunes and Amazon rule pre-sales – but neither invest in advertising outside of their small % affiliate programs. YouTube and Facebook are the #1 outlets for promoting anything and they just want your money to support their bottom lines.

We must support the labels, stores and artists still willing to put everything on the line for the love of music. Anyone mentioned on my site is part of that.

On the subject of piracy, I filed complaints against a Blog yesterday for 9 different MRR related links. And today the bastards have up audio of an album not even released yet.

Basically there is very little money in the music industry for independent outlets. Everyone is struggling. Of course to state as much is bad for business… To survive, one must adapt.

There has been no decrease in users of the site over the past several years. Stats actually remain very constant and reliable. And I am absolutely dedicated to continuing to give all readers reasons to continue coming back!
But - if I still want to be here next week/month/year, then the focus must shift to where the income is today.

And that for me is MelodicRock Records. I’ve put a lot of energy into the label in the last 12 months and I think the results can be seen. In order to continue to focus on the label, there has to be some changes.

These changes will commence after this week’s Easter break.

The biggest change is to place the focus of the site back on reviews. Adding reviews for the latest and upcoming releases (in advance) will be the primary aim of day to day updates at the site.
The delivery of news will take a back seat to reviews.
Once it was awesome to be at the forefront of breaking news, but these days everything is so controlled, so safe and predictable. There is little opportunity today to discuss rumors, expose backroom deals or report a story that hasn’t just gone out on the wires to 45,000 other outlets.

Facebook ensures that any news sent anywhere is instantly everywhere else and for someone that thrived on being at the head of the pack, there is little inspiration served by cutting and pasting endless badly written press releases that are designed to say as little as possible.

I’m spending so much time cultivating content you can get anywhere else that I’m missing out on doing the thing I truly love – writing.

Of course all the important news will still be posted. And all the news that doesn’t get picked up by regular outlets – news from the melodic labels and artists that all too often get ignored. Nothing will change there.

You can follow breaking news and comments constantly via my Social Media outlets: Facebook (www.facebook.com/MelRockAU) and Twitter (@melodicrock)

It’s time for a shift of focus for my brand. Time for me to get back to what I wanted to do in the early days - exposing as many people as possible to the best music on the planet.
And I’m going to do that via this renewed focus on reviews.

Reviews are what have suffered most over the last 12 months and it is with these that I can still deliver exclusive content and do the best possible job of talking about everything that’s available to check out. I’d like to get back to focussing on discussing all new releases – the good, the bad and the Bret Michaels.

Additionally, I’ll take this opportunity to say that there are no further MelodicRock Fest events in planning. I’m really looking forward to the first MRF event here in Australia in May (www.melodicrockfest.com) and helping Justin Murr out at Rocknskull vs MRF 2016 in Illinois in October (https://www.facebook.com/events/1508106629513304). I’ll still help Justin and others out where possible if asked, but I’m not planning on doing any more standalone MRF events. The time and effort and stress that go into each one is simply too distracting.

Back to my other passion – working with artists. MelodicRock Records is something I’m very proud of and want to further expand. Despite those few willing to destroy the scene via uploading albums to pirate blogs, there is still a market for great music from new artists, plus artists that aren’t marquee names that are currently very limited in their options for releasing what we here all love – that “album” format.

This is where I can make a difference - and where I intend to focus my time outside of writing more of those reviews than ever. Getting great music and great artists to as many people as possible has always been the one thing I set out to achieve and get a lot of satisfaction out of.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to offer some truly inspirational artists an offer they can work with and the next 6 months is going to see the release of some truly amazing albums on MelodicRock Records.

So MelodicRock.com will focus more heavily on reviews and you’ll also get all the MRR news and previews as well as direct links to purchase. The advantage of selling direct to readers is a vital cog in the survival of the label and the promotion of these artists.

But I’m not stopping there.

It never ceases to surprise me how many comments I get when talking about past releases folks missed and are now curious about. And when better to take a look back than on a 20th Anniversary year?

Over the course of the year ahead I will be running a series of lists titled “20 from 20”. Taking a look back over the last 20 years and the music that has stood the test of time (and some that hasn’t) and the artists that have made it.

But first, the 2015 MelRock Awards

And finally….while I am here seemingly writing up my life story, it seems like a good time to introduce a couple of additional writing projects that I’ve been working on in a very piecemeal fashion for what seems like forever.

I harbor ambitions in writing greater than I’ve showcased to date. It’s time to introduce those projects, as perhaps by doing so it will be a catalyst to ensure I stay focussed and don’t come up with new reasons to procrastinate as I have done for too long.
If I’m honest, these ideas may not go as far as I’d like, but at least I will know in myself that I tried and gave it the chance I wanted to.

For the past several years I have been working on plans for a story surrounding my site mascot – The Wombat.
Those ideas have grown over time and I now believe there is a very commercial story that could find widespread appeal.

I’ll begin the process I think best suited to bringing “Rock Wombat” to life via Kickstarter in the coming weeks/months. As soon as possible... I have an updated Wombat to debut soon thanks to the pen of John Hageman and Mel Smith – two fantastic guys.

The other idea we’ll call “The Label”. It’s an idea that I’ve had for a long time - a way of telling some of the unbelievable things that go on in parts of this industry. The dysfunction and the bullshit, parts of which will be drawn from my experiences in the business; everything I have learnt (and shouldn’t have) along the way as well as stories I’ve been told, things I’ve been a party to or just witnessed and some of the strangest stuff – you just couldn’t make some of it up.

There are some truly hair-raising tales to be told and some that probably shouldn’t be.

As well as looking for investors in both projects, to help fund these plans I will continue to sell off unwanted CDs and LPs from my personal collection over the next month or two via Ebay and will post links when available.

And should you feel inclined to support what I’m doing, you can always invest in any of the great MelodicRock Records titles (via www.melodicrockdirect.com) or the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, or simply donate via Paypal using the username: ajm@melodicrock.com

Everyone’s support and friendship over the past 20 years has never been taken for granted and is wholly appreciated and friendships cherished. I’m privileged to be among such fine people and to have made so many lasting friendships.

It’s time to have some fun again and I believe this is the best way forward, the best way to keep me sane and a way to guarantee I can still be here to deliver the word on what to buy and when to buy it.

So maybe this is a slight detour from what everyone is used to, but I’m not going anywhere and long may this crazy ride continue!

FIRST SIGNAL Return With 'One Step Over The Line' June 3

Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of the sophomore album from FIRST SIGNAL, “One Step Over the Line“ on June 3rd.

In 2010, a marriage made in Melodic Rock heaven between Canadian singer Harry Hess and producer Dennis Ward launched the First Signal project. The concept developed when Frontiers' President Serafino Perugino presented Hess some Melodic Rock songs that harkened back to the magic of the early Harem Scarem sound, who at the time were on an artistic hiatus. The project was met with excellent reviews and interest from the Melodic Rock crowd and even when Harem Scarem re-launched with their album “Thirteen” (one of their strongest to date), Harry was still wanting to go back and sing some excellent Melodic Rock songs that he had from various songwriters under a different moniker.

So, the idea of another First Signal album started to float around and with the help of Swedish producer Daniel Flores (FIND ME, The Murder of My Sweet, etc.), the new record started to take shape. Once again, the inspiration behind the songs are the first two Harem Scarem albums, two absolute classic Melodic Rock releases. But once again, we have some new twists and interpretations, with songs covering everything from AOR to Arena Hard Rock.

Harry says, “I am very excited to be a part of the new First Signal release. I was pleasantly surprised with the positive reaction surrounding the first CD, so it was an easy decision to be a part of the new recording. Between Serafino, Daniel and myself we gathered some great songs that I'm sure the AOR fans will love. Daniel Flores did a fabulous job and put in a ton of effort to make this happen. We met many years ago on a writing trip to Sweden where I immediately noticed his work ethic and dedication to making music. I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's reaction to the new album on June 3rd!”

Musicians on the album include the outstanding new talent Michael Palace on guitars and bass, Daniel Flores on drums and keyboards, and background vocals from Hess' Harem Scarem bandmate (and Red Dragon Cartel singer) Darren Smith, Alessandro Del Vecchio, Nigel Bailey, Daniel Flores, Rolf Pilotti and Angelica Rylin.
Another Melodic Rock gem and an absolute contender for the AOR album of the year!

Tracklisting of “One Step Over the Line” includes:
1. Love Run Free
2. Love Gets Through
3. Still Pretending
4. Broken
5. Kharma
6. Minute Of Your Time
7. She Is Getting Away
8. December Rain
9. Weigh Me In
10. Pedestal
11. One Step Over The Line

FIRST SIGNAL:

Michael Palace - Acoustic, electric guitar and bass
Daniel Flores - Keyboards and Drums

Additional musicians:

Alessandro Del Vecchio & Friends with Toby Hitchcock 'Live at Frontiers XX Anniversary'

Frontiers Music Srl is very pleased to announce the now usual special Festival CD!

At the forthcoming Frontiers Rock Festival, we will release a strictly limited edition (500 copies) of Alessandro Del Vecchio & Friends with Toby Hitchcock 'Live at Frontiers XX Anniversary'.

Recorded last February 27th in Napoli, Italy at the party organized to celebrate the XXth Anniversary of Frontiers Records, the label wanted to make things really special. So Frontiers President, Serafino Perugino, asked Alessandro if he wanted to be part of the celebrations and if he wanted to perform a few songs live ' as an unforgettable moment for all business partners, friends and journalists attending the event. Further discussions brought Pride of Lions singer Toby Hitchcock into the picture. He agreed to come over from Indiana and have a stab at some true AOR and Melodic Rock classics 'in his own way'.

So the set includes a few tracks which showcase some tunes originally written by Alessandro and then performed by other artists, while the bulk of the show sees Toby Hitchcock taking care of lead vocals on classic Perugino's very own favourite songs, originally recorded by Surivor, Journey, Bad English, Foreigner and of course Pride of Lions too.

Alessandro Del Vecchio says: "When Serafino asked me to perform at the XX Anniversary party, I just couldn't say no. Frontiers to me is not just a label I work with. I'm proud to be part of the working team behind these great albums. I called in some of my best buddies in music and after a rehearsal with Toby, we flew down to Napoli, hoping we could burn the house down. Well, we did and with a lot of fun too! Serafino asked us to perform his "dream setlist", as we called it, and we took the challenge to go out and play those songs with barely 2 hours of getting together, to give it a flavour of a jam among friends more than a regular gig. The atmosphere was awesome and the smiles on people's faces were just worth the challenge! To me the most magical moment has been singing the song I wrote for Serafino's dad - "In The Name Of The Father (Fernando's Song)" - in front of his whole family. I almost cried when I opened my eyes at the end of my last note. That's what music is about and I hope you can enjoy these few songs and get the magic we experienced and lived that night. Long live Frontiers!"

Toby Hitchcock adds 'What an incredible honor to be a part of this celebration! When Serafino asked if I could come to Italy to sing for this event, I didn't hesitate one minute! It was an amazing experience for me to play for the Frontiers crew, but also share the stage with Alessandro and the guys. What an incredible group of musicians! I hope to rock the stage with them again someday! Thanks for having me Frontiers! Here's to 20 more years!!"'

The performing band was rounded up by experienced musicians such as Nik Mazzucconi (Edge of Forever) on bass, Marco Di Salvia on drums and Francesco Marras on guitars.  It was truly an unforgettable and unique night ' enjoy and celebrate with us!

Tracklisting of 'Live at Frontiers XX Anniversary' includes:

Here Forever*
In The Name Of The Father (Fernando's Song)*
It's Criminal
Straight To Your Heart

In 1986, Sweden’s biggest hard rock act, Europe, released their milestone album, The Final Countdown. The album went on to worldwide success and continues to be a mainstay in playlists all over the world.

2016 sees this iconic album turn 30 years old. To celebrate that special anniversary, the band will be staging a series of very special concerts. For the first time ever, these shows will feature The Final Countdown album played in it’s entirety. The band will also be performing hits spanning their musical career.

Joey Tempest explains, “With a catalog of songs as big as ours, it is hard to devote so much of the set list to one album. But this anniversary is special and we want to give the fans what they have asked for. The whole band is proud and excited to play the whole album from start to finish, especially as this, our third album, made it possible for us to fulfil our dream to become an international touring band. To make it extra special we will try and play songs from War Of Kings and other albums we haven't played before and at the same time we want to design a show that will be majestic and memorable for all of us. Hope to see you all at these special dates!”

Joey Tempest: “We will release our 11th studio album in 2017 and are enjoying a successful second part of our career since we started up again in 2004. Five new albums, three live DVD's and countless shows and we're still feeling adventurous and creative. No doubt we have the best job in the world and our fans, old and new, are carrying us through it all.”

Some of the many KEITH EMERSON stories and tributes below. Personally, I'm running out of words to come up with for each time we have to morn the passing of another legend. R.I.P Keith.

"We regret to announce that Keith Emerson died during the night of 10th/11th March 2016 at his home in Santa Monica, California, aged 71.
Greg Lake and Carl Palmer have made personal statements (see www.keithemerson.com). These statements can also be read on the ELP Facebook page where messages of condolences can be left: Facebook.com/EmersonLakePalmer

To all ELP friends and fans all over the world, I would like to express my deep sadness upon hearing this tragic news. As you know Keith and I spent many of the best years of our lives together and to witness his life coming to an end in the way that it has is painful, both to myself and to all who knew him.

As sad and tragic as Keith’s death is, I would not want this to be the lasting memory people take away with them. What I will always remember about Keith Emerson was his remarkable talent as a musician and composer and his gift and passion to entertain. Music was his life and despite some of the difficulties he encountered I am sure that the music he created will live on forever.

My deepest condolences go to Keith’s family.

May he now be at peace.
