In the show's only interview, singer GRAHAM BONNET discusses his new album The Book, RAINBOW, Michael Schenker, Alcatrazz, Blackthorne, The Marbles, the song Since You Been Gone and a lot more.

QUOTES from the interview:

The sound of the new album (Time 2.37): "I stuck pretty much to the direction that I took with the second album of Alcatrazz with Steve Vai. I tried to think in that kind of mode."

(time 2.56): "I was very weary of that people that do actually listen to what I've done so I have to please the people that are listening."

Why make new music? (time 3.25): "I got so fed up with going out and just doing like karaoke. I know everybody knows the songs, but it was getting a bit stale. Why not have a new band and start recording again with new songs?"

Is there a frustration at having to do some of the older material? (Time 6.16): "Oh, God yeah. You get bored with anything eventually. You lose the enthusiasm for a song. When you first record something - you want to make it special and do the best you can. The enthusiasm sort of leaves you after thirty years of singing the same bloody songs. But I see that people still enjoy those songs still and their kids... So, I have to incorporate the old stuff with the brand new stuff."

Michael Schenker Fest was it cathartic? (time 7.44): "It was a great relief getting through the first rehearsal because I thought that after all the bullshit that went down way back then when I destroyed myself onstage, started acting like a complete idiot and was fired from the band quite rightly so... To actually look at Michael and go, 'I'm actually singing this song all the way through with you.' I saw the broad smile on his face. It was like yesterday but without all the arguments."

(time 9.08): "I wouldn't mind doing an album (with Michael Schenker) - that would be great."

The Russ Ballard song 'Since You Been Gone' - has really become your song (time 14.49): "This was a really radio friendly song and we heard a version of it by a girl band called Clout. I heard it and thought, 'No, really?' It was the last thing we did... It broke the band. It made everybody listen. Now, that's become a Rainbow song. It's very recognizable. It's a great pop song that we did our own spin on."

What were his expectations coming into Rainbow (time 17.26): "I didn't know who Rainbow was. They were never on the radio like Deep Purple, so I had to go out and buy Rainbow albums."

ICONIC PROG ROCK BAND YES SET TO RELEASE
“LIKE  IT IS - YES AT THE BRISTOL HIPPODROME”

2CD/DVD set will be released in
December on Frontiers

Frontiers Music Srl, the Italian-based label known for embracing new music from world famous rock artists, is proud to announce the upcoming release by the legendary rock group YES, entitled LIKE IT IS -  YES AT THE BRISTOL HIPPODROME on December 5th in Europe and December 9th in North America.

Available in 2CD/DVD, Blu-ray and digital formats, this new release encompasses two of the band’s iconic albums, 1971’s The YES Album  and  1977’s Going For The One,  as they were performed live on the band’s 2014 world tour.

Says guitarist Steve Howe, "Playing complete albums is a great way to hear the development of YES music & relive the familiar transitions from one track to another.” Expertly executed, these two classic albums are performed in their entirety, respecting the original arrangements, and yet still adding a new and exciting flair. “Going For The One is a wonderfully diverse set of songs, whilst The Yes Album contains the most ‘played live’ songs in the career of the band,” complements Howe.

Featuring some of the band’s most popular songs, such as ‘I’ve See All Good People,’ ‘Yours Is No Disgrace,’ ‘Going For The One,’  ‘Wonderous Stories,’ and ‘Starship Trooper,’ this set proves the endurance factor of one of England’s most acclaimed rock bands.

“These are two bodies of music that many of the most devout YES fans wanted to hear in their entirety,” adds keyboardist Geoff Downes. “I believe our performance at the Bristol Hippodrome was among the most compelling of the entire tour.”

The CD/DVD set comes as YES continues one of its most fertile musical periods in its nearly five decade history. Formed in 1968, the band has endured a number of line-ups and remains one of the most popular live touring bands in rock, today. Over 40 million record sales later, the band continues to tour and release current material on a regular basis.

New York, NY (July 21, 2014)-- Eagle Rock Entertainment is proud to announce the September 23 simultaneous release of Yes’ Songs From Tsongas - The 35th Anniversary Concert - Special Edition on 2DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Formats, and the first ever release of Songs From Tsongas as a 3CD set. [Pre-book Order Date August 29, MSRP $19.98 Blu-ray, $24.98 DVD, $TBA CD].

The Special Edition of Songs From Tsongas contains two different concerts from Yes’ 35th Anniversary Tour in 2004, the last tour to feature the classic line-up of Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and Alan White. In addition to the originally released Songs From Tsongas show, this DVD is packed with an additional 70 minutes of never-before-released highlights from Lugano. Songs From Tsongas offers a fantastic set list of favorites and rarities including “Going For The One,” “Roundabout,” “Owner Of A Lonely Heart,” “And You And I,” “Starship Trooper,” “Wonderous Stories,” “I’ve Seen All Good People,” “Yours Is No Disgrace,” “Ritual,” “Turn Of The Century,” and many more captured here in all their glory.

Disc One of the Special Edition DVD contains the whole concert from the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts, previously spread across two discs. This epic show features tracks from across the band’s career including an extensive acoustic section (tracks 11 – 18) and some tracks that have rarely been performed live. This entire concert is featured on the Songs From Tsongas 3CD.

Disc Two features a very different concert on the same tour filmed at Estival in Lugano, Switzerland. This outdoor show has a stripped down stage and full on rock versions of the acoustic tracks from Tsongas while the crowd wield a multitude of umbrellas against the pouring rain, which is clearly not preventing them having a great time!

As a Bonus Feature, the DVD includes another track “Ritual,” also filmed at the Tsongas Arena, and an insightful interview with legendary designer and Yes collaborator Roger Dean who created the brand new stage set for the shows.

Songs From Tsongas – The 35th Anniversary Concert is an incredible collection that no Yes fan should be without!
