DEKO MUSIC LAUNCHES NEW LABEL WITH SPECIALITY VINYL RELEASES

West West Side Music, the company responsible for mastering over 15,000 records (Mastodon, Yes, Monster Magnet, Fleetwood Mac, The Misfits, etc...) has launched the independent label Deko Music, which is distributed by Warner Music Group’s ADA (Alternative Distribution Alliance) in North America and the Target Group in Europe. The label is headed up by West West Side Music owner and Grammy award-winning engineer Alan Douches, with veteran record producer Neil Kernon, Billboard charting artist/performer Charlie Calv and long-time industry sales veteran Bob Ardrey.

The label operates with a full service analog/digital recording facility, mastering facility, 5.1 surround sound room, and separate mixing facility run by Neil Kernon, who has been behind the helm of records as diverse as Hall and Oates, Queensryche, Kansas, Dokken, Yes and many others. Alan Douches states, “Well, it’s a complicated machine this thing called the music business. I guess we’re going to try to help a few artists that we can appreciate along the way, it is about believing in the quality of the art whether it is Hard Rock, Metal or Jazz and not limiting the type of artists we will work with.”

Deko Music’s inaugural releases include specialty vinyl titles from projects with Danger Danger vocalist Ted Poley, and the legendary Angel with Punky Meadows and Frank DiMino (see release listings below). Charlie states, “We are starting out with some veteran artists that we feel best represent their genre and setting our sights on developing some newer acts in the very near future”. In 2019 we will see some archive releases from legendary New York band the Good Rats, former Styx member Glen Burtnik, a special live recording   of Tygers of Pan Tang featuring John Sykes (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake), former Kansas singer Steve Walsh, and the first new studio album in 40 years from legendary jazz composer GilEvans.

Ted Poley and Frontiers are pleased to announce that they have partnered up for the release of another solo album from the singer.

Ted is currently hard at work in Sweden on this still untitled effort. This time around, the Danger Danger singer has partnered up with some incredibly talented Swedish musicians, namely Mats Ericsson, Micke Jansson, Daniel Johansson, and Robin Ericsson (on additional vocals).

"You might know some of those guys other musical work as the band degreed,” says Ted “I am also getting some vocal layering with the help of my good friend, the Italian Stallion of Vocals, Alessandro Delvecchio. The album is being co-Produced by Mats Ericsson and myself in Kopperberg, Sweden.”

Ted continues, "After almost 40 years of recording and releasing music, I wanted to stretch out a little bit musically and I am proud to say that I have come up with a MAGICAL combination of amazing musicians and songs! The songs are awesome, and the musicianship will BLOW YOU AWAY. Every one of the players are MASTERS of their instruments and you might hear just a hint of modern prog interlaced with my usual catchy choruses this time around! This is going to be my favorite solo album ever and an album that I felt I HAD to make. And I am so happy with the results so far!”

More news as it becomes available!

Ted Poley will also appear live at this years Rockingham Live with his project with Steve Brown of TRIXTER, Tokyo Motor Fist. http://www.rockinghamlive.com/

You’d have to be almost dead not to get caught up in the infectious fun that is Tokyo Motor Fist. The name might conjure up thoughts of an ancient form of Japanese bondage, but at least they didn’t name themselves Trixter Danger.
Yes, the most talented Steve Brown (Trixter, Guitar) and the always flamboyant Ted Poley (Danger Danger, vocals) team with the rhythm section of Greg Smith (Ted Nugent, Rainbow, Alice Cooper) and Chuck Burgi (Rainbow, Blue Oyster Cult, Joe Lynn Turner) for what amounts to a meeting of the New Jersey chapter of the Melodic Rock Mafia, to create an infectious slice of classic 80s melodic rock that you just have to rock along with.

While the album may not have the polish of a major 80s budget, it does pass the crankability test and shines when at maximum volume.
Following his great recent solo album, Ted Poley again delivers a powerhouse vocal while Steve Brown provides the backbone of the sound, his soulful guitar playing filling the air between hooks and choruses. The album is also a tribute to his songwriting prowess.
For the most part this delivers exactly what you’d expect – a mix of modern day Trixter’s smart melodic rock and Danger Danger’s hands in the air party anthems.

Look no further than the opening salvo of Pickin' Up The Pieces, Love Me Insane, Gimme Your Good Lovin Shameless and Black And Blue to deliver plus the moody feel good ballads Love, Get You Off My Mind and Don’t Let Me Go work to balance the record and provide breathing space between the rockers.
You're My Revolution brings out the double kick drums for a rousing tempo boost, but its Put Me To Shame and Done To Me where Steve Brown’s connection to Def Leppard seems to get dialled up. For a minute I thought I was listening to Sweden’s Leppard loving Grand Design.

How could fans of the two principle artists not be happy with this? It delivers exactly what you might have been hoping for, perhaps exceeding expectations with the strong hooks and great performances.
No complaints here and given the positive fan reaction so far, one would have to think that this will develop further just as the ‘other’ D2 side project The Definants has.

TOKYO MOTOR FIST Announce Their Debut Album

Friday, February 24, 2017
Categories:
News Feed

You don’t need to be a die-hard '80s metal fan to know that the fruits of an artistic alliance between Danger Danger singer Ted Poley and guitarist/producer Steve Brown of TRIXTER is going to make melodic rock fans rejoice! The two musicians from New Jersey have recently created TOKYO MOTOR FIST and the new band is ready to unleash on the world their self-titled debut album on February 24, 2017 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Indeed, Tokyo Motor Fist is exactly what you would expect: catchy and uplifting hard rock, the way is should be! You want big – we mean, BIG - hooks? You got ‘em. What about major guitar riffs? Of course there’s plenty of those. Killer rhythm section? Well, with Greg Smith (Ted Nugent, Rainbow, Alice Cooper) and Chuck Burgi (Rainbow, Blue Oyster Cult, Joe Lynn Turner) you simply can’t go wrong!

Ted and Steve have been friends for a long time. They were playing the same club circuit with their respective bands, Danger Danger and Trixter, when both bands were starting their careers. Over the years, they've had a great personal relationship and the idea of doing a record together has been in the cards for many years. Now, thanks to Frontiers this concept has become a reality.

To say that I’m excited for the world to hear TOKYO MOTOR FIST would be an understatement,” says Steve Brown. “Working on this project with my Rock and Roll Brothers Ted Poley, Greg Smith & Chuck Burgi was a total blast….We had fun and it shows in the performances and in the music! As a songwriter I couldn’t be happier with the way the songs came together. Fans of TRIXTER, DANGER DANGER, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Cheap Trick will get the best of all those worlds.”

Ted Poley adds: “Working with guys of this caliber was amazing. I was excited to collaborate with my long time friend Steve Brown, who is not only a really great songwriter and guitarist but also an insanely cool producer! The band sounds great and very high energy. The vocals of Steve and I along with his SHREDDING guitar, combined with the World Class rhythm Powerhouse section of Greg Smith and Chuck Burgi is amazing, what a cool band - the sound is HUGE. But it’s the songs that drew me into making this album in the beginning and the record is full of catchy songs with massive choruses and great melodies and sounds BIG BIG BIG! I am beyond THRILLED with the final result and I hope you will be too.”

Beefy and energetic, “Tokyo Motor Fist” is sure to please not only Ted Poley, Danger Danger, and Trixter's fans, but all fans of melodic hard rock. Don't miss this superb release!

The incomprable pairing of TED POLEY (Danger Danger) and VIC RIVERA (Adriangale) have joined forces with MelodicRock Records to bring back from the dead their classic melodic rock debut album POLEY/RIVERA “Only Human”.

MELODICROCK STOCK SOLD OUT!

It may have only produced one record, but their venture delivered a classic for fans of melodic rock – mixing the very best of Danger Danger and Adriangale. It’s wall to wall melodies and harmonies.

The anticipated debut release from Ted Poley (Danger Danger) and Vic Rivera (Adriangale/Crunch) was originally released in November 2008. Unfortunately due to some label issues, the album was never properly promoted or distributed and copies have been few and far between on Ebay, always fetching premium prices.

“Only Human” is a set of classic melodic rock/AOR tunes that will hit the bullseye for long time fans of both Ted and Vic. It is everything one expects from a Ted Poley release, with the added "crunch" of Vic Rivera, showcasing an extra special set of songs.

Said Ted Poley at the time: "Vic and I are very proud of the new CD”; with Vic adding: “We're very proud of the work we've done on this project. It was a labor of love every step of the way, and to finally see it fully realized is a dream come true for us.”

POLEY / RIVERA is:
Ted Poley - Lead Vocals
Vic Rivera - Guitars, Bass, Drums, Vocals

TheRighttoRock.com has issued their latest podcast interview (episode #208), featuring Danger Danger vocalist Ted Poley.  Ted took time out of his busy schedule to discuss his latest solo effort Beyond the Fade, as well as what you can expect from D2.  Interview lasts approx. 30 min.

The summer's drawing to a close and as the lads get themselves reoriented, they chat things up in their own inimitable style covering such topics as dangerous summer festivals, John and McCheese's excursion to Australia, and the players at Carolina Rebellion this year.

Afterwards, The Right To Rock chews the fat with Danger Danger vocalist and all-around raconteur Ted Poley who talks about his latest solo album, Beyond The Fade. Ted is always a delight to talk to and this episode's no different, so grab a pint and kick back for some rock talk, cool?
