ALICE COOPER Guitarist RYAN ROXIE To Release 'Imagine Your Reality' Solo Album In May

Artist:
Friday, May 25, 2018
Categories:
News Feed

Ryan Roxie will release his new solo album, "Imagine Your Reality" on May 25 via www.bellyacherecords.com for LP pre-order. Pre-order CD at amazon.com The CD will also be available via Cargo Records UK.

The vocalist, guitarist and songwriter, who is best known as Alice Cooper's longtime lead guitarist and collaborator, has also worked with Slash, Gilby Clarke and others. Roxie will be touring in US in July before he starts Cooper's tour Aug 3 in Wisconsin.

"Imagine Your Reality" is Ryan's first official solo release and sees him joined by other noteworthy musicians, including a collaboration with CHEAP TRICK's Robin Zander on the track "California Man".

Says Roxie: "CHEAP TRICK were a major influence in my musical upbringing. Both Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen have joined us onstage at Alice Cooper shows in the past and have always been the most quintessential rock stars. In my opinion, Robin Zander's voice is the definition of rock 'n' roll, so having him guest vocal on 'California Man' definitely ticks a box off my 'greatest moments in rock 'n roll' list."

"Imagine Your Reality" continues Roxie's legacy of creating infectiously melodic songs and straight-ahead, no-nonsense rock riffs, and this time with more guitar than ever before. Ten tracks, all underlined by ten gleaming guitar solos. From the punk rock undertones of "Never Mind Me" to the un-sugarcoated tale of life in "La La Land (To Live And Die In LA)" to the superb BEATLES-y/OASIS nod "Look Me In The Eye" — it's an uplifting big rock soundd. Zander transforms "California Man" into the ultimate vintage-vibed, top-down, drive-in-the-sunshine rock 'n' roll anthem.

Ryan says: "With this album, I think we kept the spirit and power of the 3.5-minute rock song intact as well as keeping the dream of guitar-driven music alive and well. I can't wait for people to experience my reality."

The LP is currently available at www.bellyacherecords.com for pre-order and set to be released on May 25, 2018. Fans can order the LP's individually or in bundle packs with an exclusive T-Shirt and Guitar Pick pack.

The Bellyache Records Super Deluxe Edition 1st pressing Vinyl LP is limited to 500 copies world wide. There are 4 different colors of vinyl:

Alice Cooper Alumni BEASTO BLANCO Issue Second 'Self Titled' Album

Artist:
Friday, November 25, 2016
Categories:
News Feed

Beasto Blanco, the band fronted by long time Alice Cooper bassist Chuck Garric, will release their self-titled, full length second album, on November 25, 2016 via Rat Pak Records . The effort, which was produced by Ryan Greene (Alice Cooper/Lita Ford/Mr. Big), features 11 new tracks and an amped-up cover version of Alice’s hit song “Feed My Frankenstein” that also features Alice's daughter and fellow Beasto band mate Calico Cooper.

‘Beasto Blanco’ is the follow up to the bands critically acclaimed 2013 release ‘Live Fast, Die Loud’ (Rat Pak Records) which was endorsed by the likes of movie actor Johnny Depp, Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain, producer Bob Ezrin, and many more.

Influenced by bands such as White Zombie and Motorhead, Beasto Blanco’s all new 12 song sophomore release is a potent mix of heavy riffs, driving bass and melodic choruses.  “I’m very proud of this release” says Chuck Garric, “This new album showcases the bands evolution as songwriters and our unity as a musical force” and Calico Cooper adds “This record is like a baseball bat to the chest that you want more and more of“.

Beasto Blanco’s version of “Feed My Frankenstein” can be heard on “Nights With Alice Cooper” radio show which is syndicated on over 100 stations worldwide and can also be heard at 15,000 AMC, Regal, Cinemark and NCM movie theatres in the United States throughout November.

Asked what makes this album so unique, Chuck comments “This album is a clash of elements coming together in an organic implosion of sonic perfection, Beasto Blanco is not about reinventing the wheel, we’re all about giving ’em cool rims!”

Beasto Blanco will embark on a 2016/17 Fall/Winter tour starting in November, that includes a string of U.S headline dates, as well as a soon to be announced arena tour of Europe. They return home to the U.S for another run of headline dates that will conclude with performances on the 2017 Monsters of Rock Cruise in February. OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE IS NOVEMBER 25, 2016

Audio Fidelity To Release ALICE COOPER's 'Muscle of Love' On 4.0 Quad SACD

Artist:
Release Year:
2015

“Alice returns to a pure rock sound...one of his most revered albums ever.”

Alice Cooper fans rejoice! Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity will be releasing the final Alice Cooper group album on 4.0 Quad SACD. Muscle of Love is the seventh studio album by Alice Cooper and it was the last album to feature the entire original band, and it was a true grand finale at that. Cooper stated in an interview at the time that the album marked a return to fundamentals. “It's not complicated in any sense...It's very basic rock & roll throughout.”

The two best-known tracks are undoubtedly the Top 20 anthem “Teenage Lament '74,” which features none other than Liza Minnelli, Ronnie Spector, Labelle and the Pointer Sisters on backing vocals, and the rollicking title track. But other tracks are just as good - the Led Zep-stomping opener, “Big Apple Dreamin' (Hippo),” the gentle “Hard Hearted Alice” (a precursor to Cooper's future ballad-oriented direction), the raging “Working Up a Sweat,” and “Man with the Golden Gun.”

The 1973 return to the band's more hard rock roots was a successful creative choice and catapulted Muscle Of Love into Billboard's Top 10 Album Chart. That sound, complete with the prog-rock/heavy metal workouts, has proven over the years to be a significant piece of the Alice Cooper legacy.

“One of the best albums of the genre...a hard rock classic!”

INCLUDES: Miniature replica of the Institute of Nude Wrestling book cover

TRACKS:
1. Big Apple Dreamin' (Hippo)
2. Never Been Sold Before
3. Hard Hearted Alice
4. Crazy Little Child
5. Working Up a Sweat
6. Muscle of Love
7. Man with the Golden Gun
8. Teenage Lament '74
9. Woman Machine

Produced by Jack Richardson, Jack Douglas

Quotes from the interview: "My Beatles would be Cheap Trick." "I'm like a Rock N' Roll vampire. I'm feeding off the energy of the people that come see us."

On Recently playing with the original Alice Cooper group in Dallas: "It was like listening to a record and how I originally learned the songs."

Our second interview is with UFO guitarist VINNIE MOORE - he talks about the band, working with Alice Cooper, his new solo album 'Aerial Visions' and much more.

On making an instrumental album: "With no vocals, you need a lot of contrast between the songs."

On the guitar sound expected from him in Alice Cooper: "There wasn't a whole lot of guideline. I don't think they would want anyone to come in and play like somebody from 1970. Something had to be current or there's no point in doing it."

Alice Cooper Resurrects Supergroup HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES On Hard Rockin Tribute Album

Release Year:
2015
Categories:
News Feed

Dallas, TX - October 6, 2015.  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio with Redbeard: The Stories Behind Historys Greatest Rock Albums  visits with Alice Cooper about his new project paying tribute to lost legendary musical friends the Hollywood Vampires.

The legend of the original Hollywood Vampires, the loose collection of ribald rockers including John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon, and Alice Cooper, in the Seventies rarely saw the light of day but raved nightly on Hollywoods Sunset Strip, providing notorious stories of rock debauchery as well as many charter members to the Betty Ford Clinic. The sole survivor left to resurrect the tale, Alice Cooper, has once again attracted a colorful core crew (sober this time) including guitar great Joe Perry of Aerosmith, GunsnRoses rhythm section Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, and the coolest rhythm guitarist with a Screen Actors Guild card, Johnny Depp.  Other guest Vampires include Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger , AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson, Dave Grohl, Paul McCartney, and Perry Farrell of Janes Addiction.

The new band thrashes through some powerful iconic rock songs including Led Zeppelins Whole Lotta Love, Jimi Hendrixs Manic Depression, The Whos My Generation, John Lennons Cold Turkey, a Doors medley of 5 to 1/ Break On Through, a mashup of Alices Schools Out and Pink Floyds Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2 and many more.

Alice Cooper shares with InTheStudio host Redbeard the reason for the new  supergroup.

Theres a line in the song (Raise the Dead),They didnt lose their soul, They just lost control Here we are (new Hollywood Vampires) singing about all of our dead drunk alcoholic drug addict friends, and we were all at deaths door! Everyone in that room at one point was ready to die, and we all survived it.  These guys (original Vampires) didnt make it. We did, so its our obligation to do these songs and to honor these guys.      - Alice Cooper

All artist proceeds will go to MusiCares which provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need.

HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES Gather For Benefit Album Out Friday

Release Year:
2015
Categories:
News Feed

Hollywood Vampires are Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry

Featuring Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson and Kip Winger

Produced by Bob Ezrin

In 1972, on the Sunset Strip at a club called the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Hollywood Vampires were born in the upstairs bar.  It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through L.A.  “To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members,” says Alice Cooper, a founding member of the Vampires.  “I would walk in on a typical night” Alice says, “and John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon who would usually be in aa costume like a maid or a chauffeur Bernie Taupin, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz would be there. The next week might be Bernie Taupin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz.”

Three years ago, Alice and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again (minus the drinking).  An environment for great artists to hang, laugh and play together. The Hollywood Vampires live again with the release of the Hollywood Vampires new album.  Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both of them, and the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires.

For the next two years, Alice, Joe and Johnny, joined by producer Bob Ezrin and an amazing group of modern day vampires, including Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson and Kip Winger, recorded tracks by their dead friends and heroes.  Also included are two original songs that tell the story of the Vampires, one of which, “Raise The Dead,” has an intro by Sir Christopher Lee, recorded just prior to his death.

The album package, an antique book, was created by noted men’s fashion designer (and rock fan) John Varvatos in his signature vintage style.  Alice and Varvatos, both Detroit natives, have been partners in fashion for several years with Alice lending his classic rock style as a brand ambassador.

A sneak peek at the liner notes, penned by original Hollywood Vampire Bernie Taupin, “I’m not here to defend their vices. Over-indulgence of any sort does not ultimately constitute for a healthy mind and body. And while on the periphery of those involved, wives may have come and gone, career choices may have been deemed dubious, and heartbreak in some cases stalked a dark corridor, but in the lair of the Hollywood Vampires only joy and laughter reigned.”

“I’m not completely sure what constituted bad behavior back then, but in this lair it existed in a bubble, a hermetically sealed dome of fun. It may not have been the round table at the Algonquin, but these were witty, intelligent guys who often got raucous and loud, but rest assured there were no bystanders or animals hurt in the making of the Hollywood Vampires.”

All artist proceeds will be donated to MusiCares.

In episode 141 of One On One With Mitch Lafon, guitarist and producer, Bob Kulick, sits down with Mitch to discuss his new book, upcoming EP, working as a ghost musician on KISS' Alive II & Killers albums, the making of the Paul Stanley 1978 solo album, touring with Alice Cooper, the 1989 Paul Stanley solo tour, Balance, Meat Loaf, Motorhead, his brother Bruce Kulick and much much more.

Drummer Allan Schwartzberg co-hosts this episode. Allan is best known to KISS fans for having 'ghost' drummed on KISS' The Elder, Animalize and Asylum albums as well as credited performances on the Gene Simmons and Peter Criss solo albums of 1978. He's also appeared, both credited and uncredited, on multiple Alice Cooper albums.

Quote from the interview:

KISS ALIVE II: "Paul called me and said Ace was dragging."

Feedback from the band on guitar playing during the recording of Alive II: "It doesn't sound like Ace enough. Try to keep it in the ball park."

"I had my own band, Balance. I played with Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, Meatloaf, and all these people. I'm just on this train going through all of these artists."

I'd agreed to play on Gene and Paul's [1978 solo albums], but it became an issue. To have the same lead player on two of the records just defeated the purpose of everybody doing a different thing."

Bruce Kulick on joining KISS: "This was his fate."
