Debut album Mama Said Rock Is Dead scheduled for 8 February 2019

What started some six years ago as an 80s rock show paying tribute to icons such as Van Halen, Motley Crue, Aerosmith and Bon Jovi has long developed into a hot, autonomous act with fantastic songs and an impressive stage show: John Diva & The Rockets Of Love, a flamboyant rock band in true 80s style, graced with a talent for breathing fresh air into the classic rock music genre, are scheduled to release their debut album Mama Said Rock Is Dead on Steamhammer/SPV on 8 February 2019. 23 November 2018 will see the arrival of their lead single 'Lolita', supported by a congenial video clip featuring scantily clad girls and sunny beach scenes. The second single 'Rock´n`Roll Heaven' will be out on 18 January 2019, masterly presented Tarantino-style in a dusty Western-type desert landscape. The twelve songs were produced by Michael Voss (Mad Max, Michael Schenker, among others), with Chris von Rohr (Krokus, Gotthard) involved as creative supervisor.

Alongside frontman/womanizer John Diva as the musical and visual focus, the band includes guitarists Snake Rocket and J.J. Love, bassist Remmie Martin and drummer Lee Stingray Jr. John Diva & The Rockets Of Love have performed their spectacular shows in recent years in front of thousands of fans, three times at the Wacken Open Air (2014, 2015 and 2018), at the 2016 Turock Festival in Essen and at the Hamburg Harley Days in summer 2018, among others.

In view of the upcoming releases, John Diva & The Rockets Of Love look forward to a fruitful collaboration with SPV: 'Our shelves are chock-a-block with countless important albums that came out on Steamhammer in recent years. So in a way we've arrived exactly where we belong!'

THE UNITY 'Rise' With New Album September 14

Only about a year and a half after the presentation of their self-titled debut album in spring 2017, German-Italian melodic metal act The Unity are ready to strike again: 14 September 2018 will see the release of their current album Rise on SPV/Steamhammer. The recording features 13 brand-new songs and was cut by drummer Michael Ehré (Gamma Ray) at the B Castle Studio. Rise was produced by the band themselves and, like its predecessor, mixed and mastered by Spanish sound engineer Miquel A. Riutort at the Psychosomatic Recording Studio. The first single to be released from the album will be ‘No Hero’ on August 10th, the second single will be supported by an elaborate video clip. Aside from Ehré, The Unity continue to consist of guitarists Henjo Richter (Gamma Ray) and Stef, vocalist Gianbattista Manenti, bassist Jogi Sweers and keyboardist Sascha Onnen.

“The new songs reflect the amazing energy and extremely enthusiastic responses at our shows, but also the very positive media reactions,” Michael Ehré sums up the material on Rise. With their debut album The Unity were unanimously voted into the “Newcomer of the Year” category by the two leading German metal magazines, Metal Hammer and Rock Hard. Subsequently the six-piece enthralled their fans at tours with Edguy and Sinner and cleaned up at festivals such as Bang Your Head, Metalfest and Winter Masters Of Rock.

Talking of which - soon after its release, Rise will alsoo be presented to The Unity’s rapidly growing fan base as part of an extensive tour: from mid-October 2018, The Unity will accompany Axel Rudi Pell and his band, and the date of the big release show at Ehré’s home town of Nordenham has already been announced (see tour dates). So the second round of The Unity’s triumphal march is about to kick off!

"Rise" will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on September 14th as limited Boxset (incl. CD, 2LP, flag, handsigned photocard, 6 track bonus CD, patch, sticker etc....), CD DigiPak, 2LP Gatefold, download and stream.

You can't design rock´n`roll at the drawing board. You have to feel it from within, be really passionate if you want to play this music authentically and convincingly. Flo The Fly, guitarist with Berlin rock group Travelin Jack, refers to this phenomenon as self-entertainment, putting his band's philosophy in a nutshell. He and his three comrades-in-arms, vocalist Alia Spaceface, bassist Steve Burner and drummer Montgomery Shell, are prototypes of passionate rock musicians who won't be deterred from following their chosen path. We don't care what other people think about us, whether we rub them the wrong way or polarise, says Flo. We do what we believe in and what we enjoy most. This enthusiasm and their uncompromising attitude is the seed that has borne fruit on their upcoming new album Commencing Countdown. From 8 September 2017, Travelin' Jack's latest offering will be released on Steamhammer/SPV as CD Digipak, Vinyl LP, download and stream. Mark the day in your calendar, because that's when the annals of rock music will be enhanced by another colourful chapter.

Founded in summer 2013, Travelin Jack have developed into one of Germany's most unusual rock acts over the past four years, establishing their inimitable style, which is tailored to the vocals of Alia Spaceface, with two successful tours and shows at important festivals beyond the German borders. The general flair of Commencing Countdown may bring to mind great rock groups from the seventies, such as Thin Lizzy, Rush, Scorpions and Deep Purple, but the Berlin band's compositions and the warm, analogue production of their new album are both contemporary and modern. Flo: There's nothing retro about our material, we simply prefer the sound of the era when this music was really wicked.

This motto is emphasised by the visual trademarks of their explosive live show – the make-up, the platformm shoes and the glitter outfits which Travelin Jack are set to don when they present their album Commencing Countdown live on stage soon. SPV/Steamhammer is proud to sign one of the real and true veterans of the NWoBHM: VARDIS.

VARDIS were forged out of Glam, Punk, Heavy Metal, Blues and Rock 'n' Roll in the crucible of 1970s northern England. They are a product of rock music across three generations: inspired by the great Rockers and electric bluesmen of the 50s and 60s, learning their trade rubbing shoulders with the young guns of Hard Rock and Punk in the 70s, and achieving prominence in the 80s as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The hard, ferocious attack of their sound directly influenced the development of thrash and speed metal across North America and Europe, cited by metal giants such as Metallica and Megadeth. Never losing sight of the melodic, boogie sensibilities of their earliest influences, the Vardis brand of Hard Rock retains a unique heavy groove, and has endured as truly original.

Guitarist and singer Steve Zodiac about the signing: "Reuniting after a 30 year hiatus was a leap in the dark, but the response has been tremendous. Terry, Joe and I have hit upon a creative chemistry that makes me as excited to be recording the 5th Vardis album today as I was cutting our first demos in '76. SPV/Steamhammer have a deserved reputation for high quality releases, but it was their passion for the future of Rock and Metal as well it's heritage that meant they were the label we wanted to work with. Together we can push boundaries on the most heartfelt, hard-edged Vardis record yet, with that same rock n roll spirit at the centre of everything we do."

VIRGIN STEELE change the title for their forthcoming new studio album in 'Nocturnes of Hellfire & Damnation'.

David DeFeis says about the new album: "Our new album which is called "NOCTURNES OF HELLFIRE & DAMNATION", is not a concept album per se, but there is a through line that connects the tracks. The lyrics essentially deal with relationship issues and by that I mean....the connections between entities....as in all sorts of beings, not only human beings…but also Gods & Goddessses, Spirits, Elements, or whatever, plus various creatures, animal, vegetable and or mineral, but largely the album is about connections between people. People and their belief systems, people and their Gods or Goddesses…people and their life philosophies and also the variouus substances we invest or inject into our daily or nightly rituals and our worldview, and all the complexities of what drives us, makes us who we are and takes us where we may…or may not be going. To sum it up thiis album is about....all the various ways in which humans can entangle themselves, or destroy themselves…so the album&'s title essentially encompasses what the vibe of the whole Work is about. The title relates to the album in the way that the title 'NOBLE SAVAGE', or 'AGE OF CONSENT', expressed each of those particular Works. The title provides a framework and connective tissue, but each song is really its own thing.

Musically the album is pretty heavy, high energy, often dark, at turns melancholy, and at turns aggressive or angry sounding. It does have that over the top bombastic heaviness that we are about, and the whole Barbaric-Romantic thing that we are known for. The overarching theme that comes to mind when I think about the album or listen to it is passion…raw passion. There are big monolithic riffss, moody chord changes, 'classical' type bits, sort of Bluesy moments....it retains the VIRGIN STEELE signature, but it adds new dimensions to it. In a strange way it "feels" to me like it could have been the album we might have made to follow up "NOBLE SAVAGE", had I been able to devote all my energies into the more bombastic or progressive side of my musical nature at that time, rather than trying to appease some of the other "factions" around me who wanted some kind of a "hit"...whatever that meant at the time. So to conclude...we have infused the recordings with all that we have gone through over these past months, every fiber of our being.....and I think this album will be something our Fans will really enjoy!"

SPV / Steamhammer will release the new studio album on June 17th in Scandinavia, June 19th in Germany, June 22nd in Europe and June 23rd in the USA.

It will come out with three different covers as a standard 1CD version (the gargoyle cover), 2CD digipak version (the angel cover), 2 LP gatefold version (the flute playing skeleton cover) and download.

European tour to start February 2015

The rumours have been doing the rounds for months, now it-s official at last: 23 February 2015 will see the European release (Germany: 20 February 2015 / US: 3 March 2015) of the latest studio recording by British rock legend UFO, their 22nd to date. The album will be called A Conspiracy Of Stars, and the band consisting of Phil Mogg (vocals), Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar), Vinnie Moore (guitar), Andy Parker (drums) and Rob De Luca (bass) have recorded almost a dozen fantastic new songs, produced and mixed in the Kentish town of Deal by Chris Tsangarides, renowned for his work with acts such as Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore. A Conspiracy Of Stars will be available as a Digipak (including poster and bonus track), jewel case, vinyl double LP and for download.

More or less simultaneously with the release, UFO are scheduled to go on tour in February and March 2015, playing Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Switzerland, and more, followed by a tour of Britain and Ireland in April and May.

The band is already looking forward to the reactions to their latest release: -A Conspiracy Of Stars is another successful combination of those typical UFO elements with fresh, contemporary ideas. We-re confident that not only our longstanding supporters will get their money-s worth, but that younger rock fans will also enjoy the album. We look forward to seeing you on tour!-

"Stagefright" by MOTORHEAD and "Showtime" by UFO will be released through SPV/Steamhammer for the first time on Blu-ray. Both are a "must have" for the fans!

Stage Fright was recorded during a show at the Phillipshalle in Dusseldorf, Germany on December 7, 2004. The set features 20 songs from the entire Motorhead history, including 'Overkill', 'Ace Of Spades' and 'Iron Fist'. This memorable occasion was shot with 23 high definition cameras under the direction of Sven Offen (Papa Roach, Heather Nova, Gronemeyer, Toten Hosen, among others). The late Gert Hof, famous not only for his work with Rammstein, was enlisted to take care of the show's light design. The fans can also expect a lot of bonus material like making of, a fan special, testimonials, slide show, backstage rider and much more.

During the world tour for the album "You Are Here" UFO filmed a concert in May 2005 at the Pumpwerk Wilhelmshaven in Germany. Now "Showtime" will be released for the first time as Blu-ray incl. a fantastic acoustic session which was recorded at the Peppermint Park Studios in Hannover, Germany. More bonus material, like making of and history interviews, is also included and you can see the last performances with the band of Drummer Jason Bonham, the son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, and Pete Way who had to leave the band due to health reasons soon after.

Both Blu-rays will be released in Germany on November 28th 2014, in Europe on December 1st 2014 and in the USA on January 20th 2015.

SPV / Steamhammer is proud to announce a new Virgin Steele studio album for February / March 2015 . This will be the first full length album with brandnew songs since "The Black Light Bacchanalia" which was released in 2010.

David DeFeis describes the new album: "....it is a very heavy non-concept type album in the vein of something like a Noble Savage or an Age Of Consent, where there is no particular "story" that one has to follow...it is instead a straightforward collection of songs that work well together. It is about 80-90% tracked already, and final mixing will begin next month!" He further stated that: "I know that we announced a box-set was to be issued this autumn, which in addition to two more re-issues, would also have included a new bonus album called "Ghost Harvest", (which by the way is finished and ready to go)....but... the group and I and our label all feel that the time is right now first for some brandnew US metal in the style that VIRGIN STEELE deliver, therefore the new album is now our focus but...fear not...the previously discussed box set will be released later next year, most likely a short time after we issue the brand new release that we are currently completing. And for those who were asking...yes... the new album does have a title and I will reveal it in the weeks ahead....With these new recordings we have gone back to some earlier methods of recording such as using analog tape, and the whole thing sounds and feels very organic. To conclude...the Group and I are really happy with the new material and we are sure that all the Fans who waited so long will be more than pleased.!"

RAVEN Launch Kickstarter; Set to Release "Party Killers" Cover Album

NWOBHM thrash godfathers RAVEN have launched a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign to fund the recording of their next studio album "ExtermiNation". The band has recorded a full-length cover album entitled "Party Killers" that is being offered as an exclusive Kickstarter reward for backers. "Party Killers" is available on CD and 12" vinyl. The band is also offering exclusive t-shirts, patches, and a 7" vinyl single via the campaign, which runs through November 28th.

The trio has been in heavy pre-production for the upcoming original studio album "ExtermiNation" due in early 2015. Somehow amid the writing and rehearsal process, the band also found time and energy to record the cover album. Further details will be released in the coming days, but it has been revealed that the track-listing will include covers of "Ogre Battle"(Queen) and "In For the Kill"(Budgie).

Vocalist and bassist John Gallagher comments on the album: "We were writing for the new album at a cool studio in Richmond, VA, and in the middle of jamming asked the engineer there if we could record a few cover tunes just for the hell of it. The sounds were so good we decided to do something we'd been threatening for many years: "Party Killers" - a collection of cover tunes guaranteed to deafen yer neighbors!! It's basically a peek into the little red 45rpm singles box we used to have at home...songs and bands that were very influential to us as kids, but given the Raven overhaul! I think it gives a nice insight to our roots and will be an excellent companion to the new album!"

RAVEN is currently on tour in the United States with support act NIGHT DEMON.

MOB RULES to reveal initial details about their boxed 20th anniversary set Timekeeper

While Northern German melodic metal band Mob Rules are currently busy applying the finishing touches to their boxed anniversary set Timekeeper (release date: 13 October 2014, Germany: 10 October 2014, US/Canada: 28 October 2014), the musicians have revealed initial details about this special package which consists of two CDs, a single and a live DVD. CD 1 has Mob present the 15 most important songs from their previous eight releases, among them classics such as 'Black Rain', 'Hollowed Be Thy Name', 'Astral Hand', 'Rain Song' (Live) and 'Cannibal Nation'.

CD 2 is the fulfilment of the band members' longstanding dream: 'We've always wanted to invite guests to the studio who have been important to us and our development and who have become friends,' explains drummer Nikolas Fritz, referring to a long list of renowned musicians who have contributed to Timekeeper, among them Udo Dirkschneider (U.D.O.), Bernhard Wei' & Marco Wriedt (both Axxis), Amanda Somerville & Sascha Paeth (both Avantasia), Peavy Wagner (Rage), Michael Ehr' (Gamma Ray), Herman Frank (Accept), Corvin Bahn (Uli Jon Roth, Saxon), Herbie Langhans (Sinbreed, Seventh Avenue), Stefan Lill (Vanden Plas) Chitral Somapala (ex-Firewind, Red Circuit) and Peter Knorn (Victory). These artists can be heard on newly recorded Mob Rules classics, the cover versions 'Lights Out' (UFO) and 'Run With The Wolf' (Rainbow) as well as two brand-new songs which Mob Rules composed exclusively for Timekeeper. 'This boxed set reflects the band's past, present and future,' comments Nikolas Fritz.

Timekeeper is rounded off by a DVD featuring recordings from the 2011 Mob Rules performance at the Prog Power US festival in Atlanta/USA plus extensive bonus material. Nikolas Fritz: 'Our fans kept asking about those film recordings, that's why we have now had the material cut and its sound mixed. A great souvenir, also for ourselves.'

Real eye-catchers are the cover artwork and 44-page booklet which are part of the elaborate box, featuring scores of photos from all phases of Mob Rules' 20-year career, a special feature being the fact that each one of the limited boxes has been numbered individually by hand, making this boxed set a very special fan item.
