DEEP PURPLE Launch 'Infinite' Preview; Album Due April 7

Deep Purple reveal title, release date and first song from their new album “inFinite”, the highly anticipated follow up to their most recent worldwide chart topping album “NOW What?!”.
“inFinite” will be released on April 7th by earMUSIC.

“Time For Bedlam”, an up-tempo classic Deep Purple song, has just been made available via a lyric video:

The song will be available as instant grat as part of the digital album preorder as well as on all streaming platforms starting from Thursday, December 15th, midnight worldwide with the physical preorder of the album to start at the same time.

A limited edition EP for “Time For Bedlam”, with non-album songs and unreleased recordings will hit the shops on February 3rd.

A documentary movie, witnessing the songwriting process and the recording of the album with producer Bob Ezrin, has been produced, allowing for the first time for the fans to be part of the private band member interactions in the studio.

The movie will be included in some editions of the album and it will be presented before release in various fan events worldwide.
Deep Purple have recently announced their “Long Goodbye Tour”, which will bring the legendary live show once again all over the world.

Deep Purple have not yet answered, in fact, the many questions received by fans from all over the world who are speculating about the meaning of the title “inFinite” and "Long Goodbye".

Singer Ian Gillan has in fact declared:

“If you take it literally you may, quite reasonably, think the ‘Finite’ part of the word describes the life of Deep Purple, with a clear beginning and a nebulous end; but what of the ‘in’ bit? The word infinite is a three-dimensional double edged sword. It describes something that goes on forever in all directions; not unlike its temporal equivalent ‘Eternal’ What’s that all about?

Stephen Hawking declared (in ‘A brief History of Time’) that, before the Big Bang there was nothing. That would put the kybosh on the idea of our universe being Infinite, as he provides a starting point, which is not acceptable to the concept. So, Hawking’s universe in ‘Finite’; by definition; whether he agrees or not.

Ironically, he is quite wrong (scientists always are eventually), therefore the Universe is infinite, which means it will never end, and also means that it never started, and the corollary to that of course is that we don’t exist.

There is a metaphysical solution to all this, but it will have to wait until the tour is over because (thanks heavens) there are only 24 hours in a day (for the time being) or 10 hours in a metric day.
More on that later…”

* * *

NOW What?! has charted at #1 in 5 European countries.
NOW What?! has charted in the Top 10 in over 15 countries worldwide.
NOW What?! has gained Gold Status in Germany for over 100.000 copies sold.

The two video releases “From the Setting Sun… (In Wacken)” and “…To the Rising Sun (In Tokyo)”, released on the same day, charted at #1 and #2 in the UK on the same week in the Music Video Charts, witnessing the success of the NOW What?! tour.

STEVE MORSE Talks New Deep Purple, News Flying Colors DVD and more...

Podcasts & Radio

Steve Morse, legendary guitarist for Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band and now Flying Colors, took time out of his schedule to join Shawn and Corbs of The GuitCast podcast to talk about his Ernie Ball Music Man signature guitars, his signature Engl E656 amplifier, the new Flying Colors DVD and plans for a new Deep Purple album scheduled for 2016.

Assembling various parts from different guitars, Morse told the guys about his attempts at crating his own version of a signature model until Sterling Ball, owner of Ernie Ball/Music Man asked him to design a guitar for his company. After trial and error the Steve Morse signature guitar was born. "As an arranger and a writer myself, I said guitars can do so much more, lets try to give it as much breath as possible". The result was one of the most versatile guitars on the market and it's brother the Ernie Ball Music Man SM-Y2D.

Flying Colors, Morse's latest project alongside bassist Dave Larue (Dixie Dregs, Steve  Morse Band), Neal Morse (Spock's Beard) on keyboards/vocals, Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, The Winery Dogs) on drums and singer/songwriter Casey
McPherson handling vocals and rhythm guitar, will release their new DVD 'Second Flight: Live at the Z7' on Blu-ray, DVD, CD or LP formats. Available November 13 via Music Theories Recordings, it's the groups 2nd concert release celebrating
their two stellar studio albums. The idea behind Flying Colors, combining virtuoso musicians with a pop singer, has served the group well as 'Second Flight: Live at the Z7' demonstrates.

Morse states that writing has already begun for the new, as yet untitled, Deep Purple album. Currently in the writing stage, recording is scheduled to start about the middle of January. Capitalising on the commercial & critical success of 2013's "Now What?!" album, legendary producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper) will once again sit in the producer's chair.

DEEP PURPLE ANNOUNCE TWO LIVE RELEASES FROM TWO DIFFERENT KIND OF NIGHTS

FROM THE SETTING SUN... (IN WACKEN)
...TO THE RISING SUN (IN TOKYO)

BOTH TO BE RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 18 ON earMUSIC

WRITTEN BY ROGER GLOVER: One band, two crowds, two countries - a tale of two cities indeeed. From Germany's Wacken Open Air Festival, one of the biggest metal festivals in the world and a city unto itself, to Japan and the stately Nippon Budokan, the most revered venue in Tokyo. Each has its own distinct personality.

Wacken is a success story beyond par, starting out humbly by two friends in a field in rural Germany and becoming one of the best organized and attended metal festivals... ever. We were most impressed by the facilities, security, backstage, camping - in fact the wwhole production was superb.

As was the crowd, an awesome sight from the stage, generating a palpable sense of occasion. In the sunset, we were treated to a great welcome from the sea of tattoos and black leather facing us.

Festival crowds are unique because most people are there for the occasion itself rather than for any particular band. For us that is always a welcome challenge and a chance to connect with many who may never have seen us before. But the real stars are all in the audience. Thank you, Wacken.

By way of contrast, the Budokan is a temple of peace (except for the infamous occasion when all the seating was destroyed). Made in Japan was partially recorded there and we've played there many times since. For such a large space, the acoustics are excellent; this special building never ceases to impress.

On this particular evening, we came in at the back door, climbed the cool, marble staircase and entered the familiar dressing room. Feeling like we're the only people in the building, it's hard to believe there's even an audience out there.

But there is, young and old, sitting patiently or chatting quietly—the embodiment of civility. It's almost like the respectful hush one might find in a cathedral. But they're here to rock. And rock they do. They may be quiet while they’re waiting, but they are far from shy during the show. They gave us an unforgettable evening. Thank you, Tokyo.

From the Setting Sun... (In Wacken)
hhas been filmed by 9 HD cameras at Wacken Open Air Festival 2013. For the first time in Deep Purple's history, the band will release a 3D version of their performance on Blu-ray, filmed at Wacken.

...To the Rising Sun (In Tokyo) has bbeen filmed by 12 HD cameras at Nippon Budokan, Tokyo in April 2014.

earMUSIC PARTNERS WITH ENTERTAINMENT ONE DISTRIBUTION (eONE DISTRIBUTION) FOR EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTION IN THE U.S.

NEW RELEASES FROM ASH, DEEP PURPLE, ANGRA, THUNDER, GAMMA RAY + MORE ON THE WAY
(New York, N.Y.): earMUSIC has signed an exclusive deal with Entertainment One Distribution for distribution in the U.S., it was announced today. The deal is the first of many planned elements that will further nurture the earMusic label, brand and artists in the United States in 2015 and beyond.

Max Vaccaro, General Manager of earMUSIC comments, "During the first five years of earMUSIC, we have seen our label becoming a constant presence on the charts all over Europe. After some excellent years with our close friends at Eagle, we now feel its time to 'walk on our own two feet' and start developing our own presence in the United States. We approach this step in the most important market in the world knowing how challenging it will be to be as successful as we are in Europe. In a market where some of the best companies operate, we feel strong with having met a partner like eOne to share this ambition with."

Michael Healy, Executive Vice President of eOne Music, states, "We feel very fortunate to be able to add EarMUSIC to our strong list of labels and artists. It will be exciting to be a part of their continued success as they take these next steps to expand their footprint in the U.S. marketplace."

Scott Givens, VP Metal of eOne Music, adds, "I am thrilled to have earMUSIC join eOne Distribution and look forward to working with Max and his staff. This is another example of eOne's ongoing commitment to the rock and metal genres."

earMUSIC is the international record company of Edel Group. The label features an impressive repertoire of rock, pop, metal, and alternative rock artists. earMUSIC fuses the experience and tradition, a product of Edel's 25-plus years of worldwide success, with a renewed musical direction and a fresh approach to further artist's careers and to foster their new releases.

Additionally, earMUSIC offers artists a strong network of owned affiliates and long-term international partners. These top professionals and highly-regarded companies have been responsible for the success of countless independent labels and artists, all of which have benefitted greatly from their marketing, promotion, and distribution services, as well as their expertise, their experience, and their "know how."

Domestic label management for earMUSIC will be provided by the U.S. team of international promotion and marketing firm International Solutions, headed by Elias Chios in New York.

Internationally, earMUSIC's roster in Europe boasts some of the biggest names in rock music, including Deep Purple, Chickenfoot, Status Quo, Ash, Foreigner, Tarja, Thunder, Joe Jackson, Dragonforce, Gamma Ray, Kevin Costner & Modern West, Stratovarius, Baby Metal, Christopher Cross, and many others.

eOne Distribution is the largest independent music and video distributor in North America and holds the highest market share of any independent. The company boasts an unparalleled roster ranging from leading independent labels to major Hollywood studios covering a wide spectrum of genres in both music and video.  In addition to offering traditional wholesale and managed inventory services to some of North America’s largest retailers, the company’s fully staffed digital team operates its own in-house digital suite and provides a wide range of digital strategic services.

The first set of releases for May under this new deal are as follows:

May 12:

Deep Purple, Long Beach 1971: The release is the latest in earMUSIC's Deep Purple live series of the past two years, boasting rare material. Recorded at the Long Beach Arena on July 30, 1971 and broadcast on KUSC, 91.5 FM, this is a "must own" for fans of Deep Purple, spanning over 70 minutes of music that was remastered in 2014. earMUSIC has reached Gold Status with Deep Purple latest release "NOW What?!" in Germany where it charted at No. 1, and achieved over 10 top 10 positions worldwide, four of which were No. 1.

Angra, Secret Garden: Brazilian metal icons Angra, who have been a unit for two decades, are releasing their first music in over four years in the form of Secret Garden. It's a concept album which asks a critical question: Can something that does not exist to the eyes, or is not perceived by the senses, be considered as non-existent?

SOTO, Inside the Vertigo: Soto casts vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, formerly of Journey, amidst talented young turks who know their way around their instruments. The album is cathartic, as it finds Soto releasing the buildup of tension and frustration he has dealt with over the past several years, making for a fascinating listen that rock fans will love and be unable to turn away from.

May 26:

Thunder, Wonder Days: One of the most enduring British bands of the past two decades, Thunder roar again with their 10th studio album - their first in six years. Their sound is a tiimeless marriage of unforgettable melodies and sheer rock power and they have rightfully ascended into the rock pantheon. The album entered the UK Top 10, a first for the band in over 20 years.

ASH Kablammo!: A brand new studio album from the pop-punk sensations Ash, one of the most successful bands to emerge from Ireland in the last 20 years, is upon us. The album offers a great collection of instant classics for a band that has managed to stop time. It's a return home, as Ash had enjoyed great success in collaboration with the Edel network for their first three seminal albums.

June 9:

Gamma Ray, Best Of: The German power metal institution offers a selection of their best, most representative songs on one album! It's a collection of true greatness preparing the way to a complete catalogue reissue with extra disc made of brand new exclusive material.

CELEBRATING JON LORD
the magical night in memory of the great man and musician
featuring

DEEP PURPLE
BRUCE DICKINSON, GLENN HUGHES,
PAUL WELLER, RICK WAKEMAN
and many others

To be released on CD, 2CD, and Digital Formats by earMUSIC / Eagle Rock Entertainment on September 30, 2014

New York, NY (July 29, 2014)—On September 30, 2014, earMusic and Eagle Rock Entertainment will proudly release Jon Lord, Deep Purple & Friends – Celebrating Jon Lord on CD, 2CD, and via digital formats in North America.

It was in 2006 when, once a year, a group of stellar musicians and stars of rock started meeting up in London for a night of live music. The main intent was to raise money for a charity called The Sunflower Jam.

At first the rumors about these sessions with Deep Purple, Robert Plant, Brian May and Alice Cooper were too good to be true, to the point that a few thought that they were nothing less than an urban legend.

"The Jam," as it soon started to be called, quickly became a cult night. A real must -- first for the artists themselves, free and happy to leave their commercial thoughts outside the venue and be able to enjoy playing music together with colleagues, friends and maybe even secret rivals, and for the audience, who often could simply not believe their eyes.

The Sunflower Jam
started as an idea from Jacky Paice, who very often could count on the drumming of her husband Ian. Who would turn down playing with him?

The first editions were mainly open to guests and music business professionals that would contribute to the charity. Later "The Jam" became too good not to be available to the public.

It is in one of the earlier
Sunflower Jams that Jon Lord played for the last time with his friends in Deep Purple, duetting on a peaceful "war of hammonds" with Don Airey, who had replaced Lord in Deep Purple when he decided he had enough of a life spent on the road, and after a lifetime dedicated to rock and roll, Lord left to concentrate on his first love: classical music and the combination of rock elements in it.

2014: "The Sunflower Jam" is a now a regular sold out event, with this fourth one taking place at the Royal Albert Hall.

Jon Lord sadly passed away in 2012, a few weeks prior to the release of the just finished remake of what is universally known as the first ever meeting of classical music and rock: the Concerto For Group and Orchestra. The same composition that Purple played live in 1969 at the Royal Albert Hall.

Considering the amount of respect, friendship and love expressed by anybody who had worked, played or simply met Jon Lord, it is not a surprise that the 2014 Jam would be completely dedicated to his music. The night turned out to be a historical moment in rock music: A full orchestra, led by director Paul Mann, gave wonderful arrangements to this repertoire going back and forth through fifty years of music, performed by many old friends. It was truly an unforgettable night.

The Albert Hall sold out to the last seat...

For four hours Jon’s music was shining. Commotion, jokes, laughs and a lot of music came together by magic.

All the wonderful musicians who played at the "Celebrating Jon Lord" Sunflower Jam have left an indelible mark. The set culminatied in a 45-minute finale by Deep Purple (the Purple Mk III songs played by Paice with old friend Glenn Hughes), who are eventually joined by Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, Rick Wakeman of Yes fame, Steve Balsamo (who sang in the Jon Lord band and on his last studio album Concerto), members of The Temperance Movement, ex-members of Whitesnake Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody, and the "modfather" Paul Weller.

The concert was divided into two acts: “Jon Lord – The Composer,” which focused on his classical music, and “Jon Lord - The Rock Legend,” which focused on his remarkable and revolutionary rock sound. “Jon Lord – The Composer” is featured on the single disc version of Celebrating Jon Lord, while the “Jon Lord – The Rock Legend” segment is featured on the 2CD.

Ian Paice remembers the Celebrating Jon Lord night with vivid memory.  Considering the time all the artists had to rehearse the music for the concert, (in Deep Purple’s case two hours the day before the show!), the resulting performance were nothing less than miraculous. A testament to the quality of the players and love for Jon and his works.

“It was like no concert I have ever played. Everyone in the Hall was there for a common purpose, to honour a wonderful man and a great musician. The Royal Albert Hall is a fairly large venue and can be intimidating, but that evening, it was more like a gathering of friends at their local, (if slightly oversized) pub than a regular show.

I believe all the artists, the people in the audience and even the crew helping to make the show work, felt the difference that night.”

Everybody attending the show left the venue with an expression that clearly said "one day I will be able to say I was there"...

Now everybody will be able to see why.

About The Sunflower Jam

The Sunflower Jam is the brainchild of Jacky Paice, wife of Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice. Founded in 2006, Jacky was inspired to help those fighting cancer and other diseases after meeting a 16-year-old boy named Kevin.

Kevin had Leukaemia and a friend of Jacky’s who headed the complimentary therapy care team at the University College London called her and asked for a favor. Kevin needed a boost to pull him through and, as a Deep Purple fan, he asked Jacky if she would get Ian to sign something and send it to him. Not only did she organize that, but Jacky also called her brother-in-law Jon Lord and asked them both to deliver the signed merchandise.

“When we opened the door to his room, there were Deep Purple posters on the walls and amongst the medical equipment Kevin was laid next to his guitar in bed. The first impression we all got from this boy was how pale he was and I’ll never forget how his cheeks flushed and his eyes lit up with joy when he saw Jon and Ian,” says Jacky.

Unfortunately, Kevin passed away two weeks after Jacky, Ian and Jon visited him in hospital but Jacky’s memory of that boy and the positive effect that their visit had on him never left her. After seeing all the good work that the complimentary care team were doing on the oncology ward and how they were working alongside NHS doctors to provide a complete treatment program for patients, Jacky knew she wanted to raise money to help support the amazing work they were already doing. She has never been able to delete Kevin’s number from her phone.

Since then, Jacky has organized high-profile, classic rock events which, after outgrowing their original venue, have now moved to the Royal Albert Hall and other iconic London venues. The Sunflower Jam also organizes other fundraising activities throughout the country and actively remains committed to engaging and educating people in the discussion surrounding complimentary and integrated treatments.

The Sunflower Jam will donate all royalties out of the CD, DVD and Blu-Ray to The Jon Lord fellowship.

About The Jon Lord Fellowship

Since 2012, The Sunflower Jam have been working closely with the College of Medicine to support the amazing research that they are doing into non-toxic treatments for cancer. Following the sad death of Jon Lord from pancreatic cancer in July 2012, the College of Medicine have set up the Pancreatic Cancer Project sponsored by The Sunflower Jam which includes the development of The Jon Lord Fellowship. The Jon Lord Fellowship will be awarded each year to fund projects that display exciting and innovative approaches to fighting pancreatic cancer. The money will also fund smaller research projects that will make a difference in this field.

TO RELEASE PREVIOUSLY UNAVAILABLE LIVE PERFORMANCE GRAZ 1975

~70 MINUTES OF PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED MATERIAL~

CD, 2LP, AND DIGITAL AUDIO OUT SEPTEMBER 23, 2014 VIA earMUSIC / EAGLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT

New York, NY (July 14, 2014)—On April 3, 1975 the Mk III line-up of Deep Purple – guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, frontman David Coverdale, bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes, keyboard player Jon Lord and drummer Ian Paice – performed at the Liebenauer ice rink, located on the outskirts of mountain-cradled Graz, Austria’s second largest city after Vienna.

Enthused by Deep Purple’s arrival in town, the local press dubbed the concert “das Rockereignis des Jahres [the rock event of the year]”. And it was – in more ways than one.

Previously unreleased in its entirety, Graz 1975 – will be released in North America on September 23th, 2014 on earMUSIC / Eagle Rock Entertainment.

After Graz, Deep Purple would play just two more shows – in Saarbrücken, Germany and Paris, France – before Blackmore left to form his new band, Rainbow. The remaining band members would regroup quickly with American guitarist Tommy Bolin in tow.

In order to preserve Blackmore’s final run of Mk III concerts for posterity, Deep Purple’s managers had brought the Rolling Stones mobile recording studio over to mainland Europe. And what a show it was! Graz 1975 is absolutely electrifying and exhilarating. Indeed, it has long been regarded as the holy grail of concert recordings among Mk III connoisseurs. A performance that has never been available in its entirety until now.

Kicking off with a blazing performance of “Burn,” Graz 1975 is a wild eight-track ride, firing on all pistons. Blackmore plays with controlled brutality. The vocal interplay between Coverdale and Hughes has never sounded so good. And, of course, stalwarts Lord and Paice give it a good kicking – and then some.

The track listing, naturally, is weighted heavily in favor of Mk III recordings, with just two songs from Deep Purple’s previous incarnation with Ian Gillan on vocals and Roger Glover on bass: the iconic “Smoke On The Water” and the almost-as-iconic “Space Truckin’.” Still, it’s true to say that, from beginning to end, Graz 1975 showcases Deep Purple Mk III at the absolute top – and also, ironically, at the end – of their game.

After almost 40 years the concert is still captivating. It is the perfect example that, for Deep Purple, there is no need for extravagant video projections or expensive fire shows to play a unique and fascinating gig. All they need is their music. It is the love and passion for their music that makes every single show a unique experience.

IN SUPPORT OF LATEST ALBUM NOW What?!

[]

New York, NY (July 8, 2014) - Deep Purple, fresh off a European tour to support their 19th studio album NOW What?!, is heading stateside for a North American trek! The tour kicks off August 4 in Scottsdale, AZ (all tour dates below).

NOW What?! was originally released in North America in April 2013 via earMusic / Eagle Rock Entertainment. The album marked the next great chapter in the band's 40+ year career, blending the classic 70s Deep Purple spirit with modern production and a progressive mindset. Having reached #1 in Germany, Russia, Czech Republic and Austria, charting Top 5 in 7 countries and Top 10 in 10 countries, not to mention hitting the British Top-20 for the first time in 20 years, Deep Purple celebrated with the release of NOW What?! Gold Edition earlier this year, which included additional songs and a live bonus disc.

In anticipation of their return to North America, Deep Purple will release their next single to radio: 'All The Time In The World.'

Blazing off the success of NOW What?!, Deep Purple is ready to bring the sizzle to the States this summer!
