MELODICROCK FEST 5 USA – LINEUP CHANGE

It is with great disappointment and considerable sadness that I must announce the withdrawal of MECCA and SCHERER/BATTEN from MRF5 USA.

First of all – this is entirely regrettable, but it is one of those risks you have to accept when booking an event 12 months out from the go date.

I’d like to reaffirm that neither of these cancellations are due to anything under my personal control.

In both cases, unrelated issues combined with the logistics of putting together working lineups for both acts has proven too great a challenge to achieve.

Joe Vana: “Due to scheduling circumstances beyond my control Mecca is unable to perform @ MRFest5...I will still be there supporting Andrew at the fest!!! My sincerest apologies as this was unforeseen!!! I’m very disappointed as well....”

I’m talking to Joe about a role for him on the VIP Thursday event, hopefully an acoustic performance of some Mecca tunes.

Marc Scherer is also hopeful of making an appearance at the VIP event and throughout the weekend to meet fans and thank them for the amazing support of the Scherer/Batten album.

As the Saturday lineup was becoming a little crowded, at this moment other sets will just be expanded, and Gary Moon will be given as much time as he likes to bring the highlights of his career to fans with the backing of Evolution Eden with Eric Ragno.

To reassure event attendees of any further issues, I’m pleased to update fans with news that flights are booked and paid for Treat, Crazy Lixx, FM, Grand Design, The Radio Sun, Adriangale, Boulevard and H.E.A.T and arrangements for the remainder of the lineup are all in place.

VIP and GA Tickets to the event are currently at the printers and will be mailed out in the next week or two. VIP Laminates will be ready for collection prior to the Thursday VIP event.

MELODICROCKFEST 5 (USA) UPDATE

MRF5 unfortunately must make a couple of changes to the previously announced lineup due to circumstances beyond our control.

This is not unusual in the festival business as artist circumstances change over time, but nevertheless, it is regretful and disappointing to make any change.

There has been a slight shuffle of appearance days with a couple of the artists – done to benefit the fans as extended sets will now be possible.

If anyone has issues with changes, please let me know and if anyone needs to swap daily tickets to fit the changes, please advise ASAP.

Tickets and passes for the event will be sent out during February (if all goes to plan).

There will be NO further changes. Visas, flights, hotels for all other artists are currently underway.

THE DEFIANTS regretfully must withdraw from the event due to the unavailability of guitarist Rob Marcello. Rob has recently taken up the guitarist role with The Poodles and despite hoping the USA event could still be scheduled in, but sadly that is not the case.

Frontman of The Defiants PAUL LAINE will still appear for his solo set on Sunday, promising to make room for a few Defiants songs.

Australia’s ROADKILL were looking forward to their international debut, but must withdraw due to a member’s wife expecting their first child the very weekend of MRF. I’m sad the guys can’t make it, but if there’s one reason to withdraw, then that’s gotta be it. Congratulations!

TEER have informed me they are unable to make the journey due to a few of their own issues. I send my best regards to the guys and look forward to hearing some new music.

THE CHANGES:

TREAT will now headline Friday night and play as long as they like. STATION and GRAND DESIGN and everyone else will get a little longer to play on Friday.

CRAZY LIXX are moving to Saturday to perform before H.E.A.T.

The Early Bird 3-Day Pass for Melodic Rock Fest Scandinavia 2018 grants you access to the whole festival (except V.I.P. area), all three days. A very limited number of tickets at a reduced price, once they're gone, they're gone!

The festival was founded by Andrew McNeice back in 2007 and in collaboration with Rock Stage Malmo the three day festival now find it's way to SLAGTHUSET, Malmo, Sweden.

The former slaughter house "Slagthuset" in Malmo is today one of Scandinavia's most conveniently located event facilities, only 20 minutes from Copenhagen Airport, 2 minutes from Malmo Central Station and 35 minutes from Copenhagen City. The venue is ideal for conferences, expositions, theatrical performances and concerts!

For MelodicRock Fest Scandinavia 2018 we will use 3 of the bigger rooms + an outdoor area with a total capacity of 1,500.

MELODICROCK FEST 5 – UPDATES!

I know the biggest question going around right now – is WHEN will we hear the MRF5 details?

That’s a VERY good question!

I appreciate everyone’s patience. The lengthy process underway right now is necessary and extra special care is being taken to bring the very best possible lineup to both events.

I also want to ensure that the lineup announced is the lineup that turns up. Changes are always a risk with long term planning and so many artists, but MRF has a very good reputation for delivering what is promised.

Right now I am in the final stages of negotiations with several artists that will complete the lineup of MRF-USA.

Likewise for MRF-Scandinavia – but in that situation I’m working with Johan Nylen and the Rock Stage team to finalize all plans there.

I can confirm that the Malmo, Sweden event will take place May 31-June 2. That date is FINAL! The venue is booked and will be announced shortly.

MRF-USA is of course taking place May 4-6 at the site of MRF3&4 – H.O.M.E Bar Chicago in Arlington Heights.

There will be an event hotel, but don’t book yet…there will be a deal and it may not be the hotel from last time.

A couple of points I’d like to make for both shows in general:

- Ticket prices announced will be the same price right up until event weekend.

- There will be VIP options that embrace the whole event experience and once gone, are ALL GONE!

MRF-USA is set to feature a mix of classic, cult and new artists, from within the USA and around the world – more international acts than any other show to date!

As final details fall into place, at this stage I envision a lineup announcement at the end of this month and tickets on sale a couple of weeks after that.

MRF5 will happen in May 2018

Stuck with the problem of deciding between two amazing locations and two amazing venues, with two great partnerships to work with, we've taken the only responsible option - two MelodicRockFest events, back to back!

MRF-USA and

MRF-Scandinavia

MRF5 will be happening as usual in the Chicagoland area; and for the very first time is also heading to the other side of the globe, for a special event in Sweden!

This initial announcement is being made 14 months out from the events to allow interested fans to plan ahead and save for what will be two unforgettable events.

Full lineups for both events are in advanced planning and will be announced in the not too distant future.

Both MelodicRockFest events will take place in May 2018 and will feature the best characteristics of previous fests, with a couple of new twists to keep diehard fans happy and offer up some tempting VIP options.

MRF organizer Andrew McNeice: "I was initially reluctant to dive into another event, but the partnership offers on both side of the Atlantic give me the confidence and enthusiasm to really deliver two exclusive events. I'm doing this for the fans. The true fans of this small, but amazing genre. I want to put on the two best MRF events yet and discussions with artists I'd love to take part suggest they will be.

I'm going to deliver lineups that offer something you won't get at any other event, with the emphasis on the hottest acts fans in both locations have been demanding to see.

You can expect there to be a crossover of some artists at both events and for those looking for a double holiday, there will be ticketing options that cover both events.

It's also a great opportunity for some artists to perform that wouldn't otherwise get a chance and I'd love to deliver a few surprises from yesteryear that the diehards will embrace."

MELODICROCKFEST Expands ERIK GRONWALL Set & Jona Tee Will Join In

MelodicRockFest Australia is taking place in Melbourne on May 13 and 14, 2016 at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow in St. Kilda.

International Headline acts Eclipse (Sweden) and Paul Laine (Canada)(ex-Danger Danger) will be joined by Australia’s brightest rock talent, including BB Steal, Black Majesty, Vanishing Point, The Radio Sun, Serpentine Sky, White Widdow and Teargas.

And it just got bigger…

H.E.A.T vocalist and event special guest Erik Gronwall will no longer be performing with Eclipse for their encore at MelodicRockFest Australia.

He will instead be doing a FULL SOLO SET with the help of a few locals. Yes! That's plugged in, full band, in your face Erik Gronwall!

Pumping out an hour of solo and H.E.A.T tracks, Erik was only too happy to jump in and help out in the wake of Mitch Malloy's withdrawal.

My sincere thanks goes to Erik!

He made only 1 request. In order to deliver a knockout set, he would need a one of his buddies to help. So please welcome H.E.A.T's own Jona Tee to MelodicRockFest! Jona will join Erik for his set and will also hang out for the weekend to meet local fans.

But that’s not all…

I’m pleased to announce that another great local band will be joining the event to headline Friday night. Fresh from their performances on national TV on Australia’s Got Talent, welcome Sisters Doll to MRF!

The addition of these two performances completes the MRFAU lineup.

For those that have purchased tickets already – those will be at the printer next week, so should start arriving in mailboxes the week after (March 14 onwards). Thanks for your patience there and for your support of this event!
