Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of The Ferrymen's sophomore album entitled “A New Evil” on October 11, 2019 -
The band, featuring Ronnie Romero (vocals), Magnus Karlsson (guitar) and Mike Terrana (drums), have also released a music video for the title track.
The Ferrymen released their debut album in June 2017 and took fans of the European melodic metal sound by surprise as they seemingly came out of nowhere. With songwriting and fretwork handled by ace Swedish guitarist Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Magnus Karlsson's Free Fall), the awesome vocals of singer Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, CoreLeoni), and drummer Mike Terrana (Axel Rudi Pell, Tarja, Rage) bringing the heavy metal thunder, the band quickly found their home in the hearts of fans of the classic DIO sound combined with heavier, updated songwriting textures and arrangements.
Musically, fans can expect in "A New Evil" a very heavy, melodic metal album fusing the songwriting and epic structures of the widely praised ALLEN/LANDE records (guitarist Magnus Karlsson was the main architect of the first three critically acclaimed releases) with the powerful vocal approach of Romero (let's not forget that Romero was hand-picked by legendary Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist Ritchie Blackmore to be the lead vocalist for Rainbow's recent reunion shows). True heavy metal fans are of course quite familiar with the well regarded Terrana and what his drumming skill set brings to the table on a heavy metal album of this nature. And what metal album would be complete without some stunning artwork? Renowned artist Stan W. Decker's album cover rounds out this colossal heavy metal offering.
""A New Evil" is a bit heavier and more progressive,” says Magnus Karlsson. "I’m always learning and try to improve my songs and productions each time out. Working with Ronnie and Mike is a such a great experience. I can concentrate on the writing and whatever I will come up with I know they will nail it! This time Jacob Hansen (Pretty Maids, Volbeat, etc.) did the mix and it works really well with the heavy style.”
“I think it's a great album and people are gonna love it as they did with the first one,” adds Romero. “Everybody knows Magnus' skills to write great music, so it’s really easy to like every song on the album. This time was maybe even easier to work together because is the second album and we know each other better, he knew how to get my best performances, so I’m very proud about my work and grateful to have Magnus working side by side with me.”
"I have a few favorites like 'Don’t Stand In My Way', 'Bring Me Home', and 'A New Evil'. But a very special song for me is 'No Matter How Hard We Fall'. When you hear Ronnie in that chorus you will get goosebumps,” continues Magnus. Ronnie’s favorite is “'Bring Me Home', but I’m really looking forward to when people can hear the whole album because I'm sure they are gonna love every second of music on it!”
"A New Evil" will be a shot of adrenaline for all lovers of melodic metal, so mark you calendars for October 11, 2019!

“Apocalypse” is Primal Fear’s 12th studio album and another milestone release in keeping with the consistent growth the band has shown through their career. Primal Fear, through years of hard work and a steady stream of increasingly powerful albums, have become one of the most beloved and respected heavy metal bands around the globe, a true metal institution. Their last two studio albums, “Delivering The Black” and “Rulebreaker”, saw them climbing the charts in several territories and receiving even more critical praise than previous releases. Truly, especially in recent years, the band has continued to raise the bar in terms of quality and musicianship with each release, constantly pushing themselves to find new ways to best themselves.
Production of the record started at the end of 2017 and was wrapped by Spring 2018 at Hansen Studios is Denmark with producer Mat Sinner and engineer/mixer Jacob Hansen. "My personal highlight of recording the album was the fantastic teamwork. Peaceful, focused and really creative,” says Mat Sinner. "No big discussion, no heated arguments. Everybody did a fantastic job and the performances were top notch. This was the key to improve every little detail of the songs, from old school to epic, from modern to symphonic, from fast to slow - you will hear it all on 'Apocalypse'.”
The guitars on the album are truly outstanding. Each of the three guitar players of the band - Magnus Karlsson, Tom Naumann and Alex Beyrodt - shine in their own respective right. Thanks to the fantastic mix provided by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Delain, Pretty Maids, Amaranthe, etc.), each player is highlighted.
And finally, what to say about the performance of Ralf Scheepers, one of the truest and most outstanding vocal metal heroes of our times? "Ralf is more motivated and ambitious than ever before,” relays Sinner. "The band vibe is extremely peaceful and creative these days and this really elevates Ralf. He had the opportunity to try different things on the songs and even some extreme ideas, which are always welcomed. Ralf sounds good in every pitch from a very deep sonor voice, to a mid-range power vocal to extreme high-pitched screams, so we could fool around with all different scales and scenarios. For example, I think the vocal performance on the song ‘Supernova’ speaks for itself.
The result on "Apocalypse" is utter satisfaction paired with maximum enthusiasm and we’re really happy about the final result - I hope the fans will enjoy the record as much as we do!”

PRIMAL FEAR are back in the studio working on their upcoming new album, “Apocalypse”. 12 brand new crushing heavy metal tracks have been selected, out of 30 newly written tracks, which will be produced by PF's own Mat Sinner and engineered & mixed by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Denmark. The album is tentatively scheduled for release in mid-2018.
New song titles include “Apocalypse”, “New Rise”, “The Hounds Of Justice”, “King Of Madness”, “The Beast”, “Blood, Sweat & Fear” and the 10 minute extravaganza “Eye Of The Storm”. Stylistically, the new tunes follow the same path that started on the most successful PRIMAL FEAR album so far, “Rulebreaker”.
Ralf Scheepers: "I don’t know where it comes from and how we do it, but we seem to have a real flow in writing some cool heavy metal tunes since quite a while. And again, nothing will be released which we are not 100% satisfied with. You can trust the seal of the brand PRIMAL FEAR.”
Mat Sinner adds: “I’m really surprised about the creativity in the band. Every band member contributes on the song writing and I’m super happy about the chosen songs and the production so far. You can expect a full energy driven metal album with a maximum attitude and raw power!”
PRIMAL FEAR will support the new album release with an extensive summer festival tour in 2018, followed by a world tour.

'Best of Fear', as the name implies, is a new best of compilation from German heavy metal masters, Primal Fear. This double album culls together the best material from Primal Fear's last 10 years of work (including the albums 'New Religion,' '16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead),' 'Unbreakable,' 'Delivering the Black,' & 'Rulebreaker'), plus four brand new songs recorded specifically for this release.
Mat Sinner says: 'We wanted to come up with something special instead of a regular "Best-Of' album. We've recorded 4 new songs including a cover of the Heart song "If Looks Could Kill' and in my view one of the best vocal performances of Ralf Scheepers' career - crushing! We've divided the album into 2 CDs - on CD 1 the new tracks and our most favorite rockers, on CD 2 the epic stuff and the long songs including an exciting artwork by Stan Decker. This is a compilation we're proud of and much more than a collector's item!'
This comprehensive overview of Primal Fear's body of work over the past ten years is aptly split into two records which showcase the magnificence (and constantly maturing) songwriting abilities of these heavy metal lifers. The first album encompasses the heavier and more straight ahead material, while the second shows the more involved and epic side of the band's songwriting.
So, whether you're just discovering Primal Fear or you're a long-time fan, this is a really good overview of their music over the past ten years and is not to be missed!

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the first edition of the Frontiers Metal Festival which will be held on Sunday, October 30th at the LIVE MUSIC CLUB in Trezzo Sull’Adda (Milan), Italy.
After the success of the first three editions of the Frontiers Rock Festival, the Italy based label decided to create a spin-off event to highlight the incredible talent of the heavier bands on the roster. The bill is made up of seven international and Italy based bands, all of whom will please fans of the power and progressive metal genres.
TRICK OR TREAT will kick off the festival, playing songs from their awesome new record, “Rabbits' Hill Pt. 2,” which will be released on July 8th. Spanish metallers Lords Of Black, featuring new Rainbow singer Ronnie Romero Official Site, will follow with their exciting mixture of classic heavy metal combined with power and prog metal. From there, DGM, an Italian band, who will release their highly anticipated eighth album, “The Passage” on August 26th, will take the stage and show of their incredible progressive metal stylings.
With no rest for the wicked, Italian symphonic metallers Secret Sphere will take the stage, spearheaded by the fabulous singer Michele Luppi, now keyboardist and background singer in Whitesnake. The Festival will continue on with a theatrical approach – Prog and Symphonic – from the magnificent German band Vanden Plas Official. Their live return to Italy is certainly one of the most anticipated events of the day.
The two headliners will be: Labyrinth – a new Frontiers signing, recently finalized – one of the most successful Italian metal bands of all time, which will see the return of singer Roberto Tiranti to the line-up, who will offer a live rendition of their classic masterpiece “Return to Heaven Denied” from start to finish, in addition to some of the most acclaimed songs from their storied catalog. The last slot of the evening could not have been left to anyone else other than Germany's mighty Primal Fear, one of the most successful metal bands around, fresh off the successful, chartbusting album “Unbreakable,” which charted in their home country of Germany, as well as in the United States and many other countries around the world.
Doors will open at 14.00 hrs. Early bird tickets, available until June 30th, will cost 31.00 EURO. Then the price will go up to 35.00 EURO until the day of the Festival. Tickets purchased on the show day will cost 39.00 EURO.
Metalheads all over Europe – YOU SIMPLY CANNOT MISS THIS SHOW!
What we have here, is a metal monster! Yes, it’s tailor made for the metal audience, as have been all Primal Fear albums, so it’s a matter of personal taste of course. But if you have been a long time Primal Fear fan, or following Mat Sinner and Ralf Scheepers – then Rulebreaker is a buy or die release.
Contrary to the title, the guys don’t break any metal rule – instead they adhere to them to the letter. Big screaming riffs, big screaming vocals and a high impact rhythm section pounding out the tunes.
What the guys have done here is increase their credibility as one of Europe’s premiere pure metal bands.
And the energy within is hard to contain.
We have 11 tracks – all relatively concise at under 5 minutes and some under 4 – with one 10 minute epic right in the middle.
Highlights include the fast moving opener Angels Of Mercy; the darker chugging metal of The End Is Near and the more melodic Bullets & Tears (great hook); plus the anthemic Rulebreaker; the slow/fast/mid-paced/fast epic We Walk Without Fear and the brain crushing riffage of The Devil In Me.
The big metal ballad The Sky Is Burning is one of the biggest sounding tracks I’ve heard from these guys. Epic.
Everything I expected and have heard from the guys previously – just better. Really strong songs, a huge production and fabulous mix and lots and lots and lots of guitars. Loud guitars.
In celebration of the new Primal Fear album, RULEBREAKER, there will be a number of listening parties happening on or around release date! Check out the below of locations hosting the parties and be sure to come and hear the album, pick up a copy of the CD and enter into raffles with cool Primal Fear prizes!
