PRINS SVART All Star Swedish Project Out Oct 5

Prins Svart is actually a reunion of four musicians whose roads crossed in Stockholm in the mid 90's. Then, they toured Sweden as a Led Zeppelin tribute and after recording a self-produced CD called "Four Sticks", life took them in different directions: Sebastian Sippola (drums) played with "Grand Magus" and "Plankton", Tomas Thorberg (bass) toured with "Michael Schenker" and "Tiamat", (and played with Sebastian in "Plankton"), Stefan Berggren (vocals) started singing in "Company of Snakes" with Bernie Marsden, Micky Moody, and Neil Murray (Whitesnake), and has been touring with "Don Airey Band" ("Rainbow", "Deep Purple") and "Uriah Heep", Henrik Bergqvist (guitar) played with "The Poodles" (since 2008).

Now the road has led them back to where they started and the result can be heard on the self-titled debut "Prins Svart". The music can be described as rock with roots in the 1970s, the decade when they were born, but with elements of the first half of the 1980s and bands like "Dio", "Whitesnake", "Rainbow" and "Ozzy Osbourne". The lyrics are in Swedish and describe "the human condition”: longing, hope, love and sorrow.

The production of the debut, "Prins Svart", is signed Dino Medanhodzic ("Hardcore Superstar", "Kill the Kong", "The Poodles", "Smash Into Pieces"), promising a more modern sound than the influences suggest. Someone said that "Prins Svart" sounds like Swedish band "Kent” if they had listened to Led Zeppelin instead of Depeche Mode"!

You Can't Kill HARDCORE SUPERSTAR's Rock N Roll

YOU CAN’T KILL MY ROCK ‘N ROLL New album from Hardcore Superstar out September 21st 2018!

You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘N Roll is the 11th album from Gothenburg’s HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, consisting of 12 ear splitting anthems that drive home the fact that Rock isn’t dead, it is in fact alive and well and thriving in Sweden.
Recorded throughout 2017 and early 2018 at the beautiful Österlyckan (Wooden Hybrid) Studios near Gothenburg, the album was produced by the band themselves and mixed in Stockholm by Dino Medanhodzic.

Celebrated worldwide for their explosive and uplifting live performances that are bursting with integrity and passion, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR have managed to somehow harness and capture all that passion and raw energy and translate it into the 12 songs that make up “You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘N Roll”. This is a huge sounding album on all levels, overflowing with sure fire hits and guaranteed future fan favourites.
The albums first single “Have Mercy On Me” was released to great critical acclaim at the end of 2017 and quickly became play listed on radio stations all over the UK, Europe and their native Scandinavia, making it a runaway success. The following singles “Bring The House Down”, “Electric Rider” and “Baboon” have built enormously on this success, creating massive amounts of excitement and anticipation amongst the fans and media in preparation for the albums release on September 21st 2018. Further singles are also planned to coincide with the bands ambitious World Tour that will see them playing to audiences far and wide throughout all of 2018/19.

Its safe to say You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘N Roll is an unapologetically confident and assured album full of big hooks, attitude and aggression that doesn’t let up from the moment the opening track “ADHD” kicks in all the way through to the closing track “Goodbye” with the title track being an uplifting, rallying call to arms for all fans of Rock music to stand proud, united in the celebration of who we are and the music we love. The message very much setting the tone for the album as a whole.
All the elements that that make up a great HARDCORE SUPERSTAR album are here in abundance. At its core there is the great song writing and big choruses that are synonymous with every HARDCORE SUPERSTAR release, however each song stands on its own as well as complementing the album as a whole, taking the listener through a rollercoaster of snarling riffs, heavy bass lines and relentlessly driving drums, all of which are intertwined with enslaving melodies and Jocke’s unmistakeable vocals.
It’s safe to say, “You Can’t Kill My Rock N Roll” isn’t just the bands finest album to date, but it could quite easily also be their most career defining.

HARDCORE SUPERSTAR You Can’t Kill My Rock ’N’ Roll Australian Tour June 2018

Tour News

Sweden’s premiere purveyors of thrash metal meets sleaze rock, Hardcore Superstar will be touring Australia this June!

Having last toured Australia waaay back in 2008, HCSS are ready to make it up to their fans for a decade of lost time in a big way!

Fusing a base of hard, aggressive heavy metal with the catchy, melodic and decadent hard rock of glam’s glory days, Hardcore Superstar’s self coined ‘street metal’ is made for the stage!
It’s music from the heart. Fist pumping, anthemic rock with tasty licks, big bass and bigger drums!

The band will be bringing all their bombastic hits like Wild Boys, Beg For It, Above The Law, C’mon Take On Me that will get the room shaking as well as their expert level power ballads like Someone Special and Standing On The Verge which will have phones (and some old school lighters) in the air.

Busting out of Gothenburg with their 1998 debut album, Superstar gave a respectful nod to the generation of LA rockers who came before them while mixing it up with their current day contemporaries.
The result was It’s Only Rock N’ Roll and it can be confidently called a game changer, giving birth to a whole new hybrid genre.

From there the band delved into the American classic rock sound of the 70’s paying homage to the bands that influenced the bands that influenced them!
Now armed with some vintage rock vibes to add to their thrash/glam arsenal, HCSS became an even greater force to be reckoned with, opening up for AC/DC across Europe.

By the mid 2000’s the band moved slightly away from their core sound and dabbled in some Brit rock and Misfits style punk before circumstances lead to them going on an extended hiatus.
During the break the guys worked on restoring a house that one of them inherited. Blasting out Appetite For Destruction, Dr Feelgood and Among The Living on repeat and with a cheeky grin, they knew what needed to be done.
They went back to their roots and refined their sound to be the bastard child of them all and that’s been the Hardcore Superstar way ever since!

With a their recently released single, Have Mercy On Me, from album number 11, You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘N Roll due in September this year, Hardcore Superstar in 2018 are as potent as ever.
Four tattooed guys in denim and leather, rocking out like brothers hellbent on a good time.

Come and join the fun!

SWEDEN ROCK FEST Adds DOKKEN And More...

Thursday, December 4, 2014

Another ten acts confirmed for the Sweden Rock Festival!

Previously, 38 acts have been announced for next year's Sweden Rock Festival. Here is another ten:

Legendary guitarist Slash, whose latest album "World on fire" went to #1 in the Swedish charts a few weeks ago, will perform at Sweden Rock for the first time next summer. And naturally, he is bringing vocalist extraordinaire Myles Kennedy (also in Alter Bridge) and his cohorts in The Conspirators. Expect the best Slash songs along with classics by both Guns n' Roses and Velvet Revolver in the setlist!

Dokken was one of the big bands of the 80s, with an influential blend of classic hard rock and melodies á la what some refer to as hair metal. The band has not played Sweden Rock since 2001, so it's about time they return. Notably, singer Don Dokken, drummer Mick Brown and demon guitarist Jon Levin are joined by the celebrated singer Mark Boals, known for his singing with Yngwie Malmsteen and Royal Hunt among others... as the bands bassist!

Hardcore Superstar from Gothenburg have been one of Sweden's most popular hard rock bands for years. Their latest Sweden Rock appearance was marred by heavy rain and although most of their audience persisted, they are well worth a new shot.

In 1998, a new band featuring members from Katatonia, Opeth and Edge Of Sanity was formed in Stockholm. They took the name Bloodbath and quickly became connoiseurs' faves, and all but mythical since they hardly ever performed live. Earlier this year, their fourth album "Grand Morbid Funeral", featuring new vocalist Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost) was released and their Sweden Rock appearance will be their only in Sweden this summer.

Pat Travers is a Canadian hard rock legend. He made his debut in 1976 and instantly established his style: fundamentally blues based hard rock spiced with unorthodox rhythms and unabashed pop melodies. On his later works, blues is the predominant influence, with the characteristic Travers guitar sound fully noticeable.

Swiss outfit Eluveitie is one of the most successful folk metal bands today. Their sound mixes melodic death metal (Gothenburg style) with Celtic folk music, featuring traditional instruments like bagpipe, violin and miscellaneous flutes and pipes. In 2015 they make their SRF debut, and their only Swedish performance next summer.

Refuge is in fact the reunited 1988-1994 line-up of German heavy/power metal icons Rage: Peavy Wagner (vocals/bas), Manni Schmidt (guitar, ex-Grave Digger) and Chris Eftimiadis (drums). The trio reunites to perform songs exclusively from what some consider the best period in the history of Rage, and albums like "Perfect man", "Secrets in a weird world", "Trapped" and "Missing link". The name Refuge is used since the current version of Rage, front man Peavy's day job, remains active.

Thin Lizzy leader Phil Lynott (RIP) called keyboardist Darren Wharton the band's most talented member ever. Since 1985, the same Darren Wharton fronts Dare - originally a melodic hard rock band which has gradually turned towards a more ethereal and Celtic sound. Next spring will see the release of the eighth Dare studio album, shortly before them returning to Sweden Rock.

Dan Hylander earned his place in Swedish rock history as the leader of Raj Montana band. When the group was disbanded in 1984, Dan Hylander continued as a solo artist and producer for artists like Totta Näslund and Tomas Ledin. In 2011 he made a comeback album and next year he makes his Sweden Rock debut - a suitably rocking setlist has been promised.

Yesterday we also announced Swedish band Egonaut for the Nemis Stage!
